We are looking for a Patient Account Representative for Patient Accounts at St Joseph Hospital!
Location: St Joseph Hospital
Schedule: Full-time 80 hours biweekly
Shift: 8-hour Days
St Joseph Hospital is a nonprofit, 138-bed health care facility located in Eureka. This full-service hospital is now designated as a level III trauma center and has been a cornerstone of the community since 1920. St Joseph offers cardiac, critical care, emergency, maternity and infant care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic, surgery, and more.
Under the direction of the PFS Manager and the Director of PFS, and with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, the Patient Account Rep-Collectors performs the account representative duties associated with the Business Services Department. Coordinates patient accounting functions, which adhere to established policy and procedure and standard work.
Must be able to type 40 wpm.
Able to demonstrate computer skills.
Working knowledge of software, including MS Word, Excel and Windows, Internet Navigation
Ability to use office equipment, such as copier and scanner
Excellent customer service, verbal and written skills to facilitate with healthcare personnel.
Ability to handle heavy call volume
Education: High School graduate or certified equivalency (GED) required, some college and/or technical school preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital business office or the equivalent complexity to the Patient Accounts operation is required. Experience directly related to hospital patient accounting reimbursement analysis is required.
Licensure: None required.
