Patient Account Representative-Collections

Riverchase Dermatology, an AQUA Dermatology portfolio practice, is Florida's largest and most comprehensive full-service skin care provider in the Southeast, offering medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, vein care, and radiation oncology.

This Patient Account Representative is responsible for taking incoming and outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies to resolve account balances. Essential job duties: account review, customer service, and billing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients and insurance companies.

• Assist clients and patients in all requested tasks.

• Is responsible for medical billing/collecting payments/Financial requirements for patients

• Communicate to management, areas of concern or areas of improvement.

• Performs various collection actions, including reporting delinquent accounts to the collection agency.

• Contact patients as the situation requires resolving any issues and collecting balances when appropriate.

• Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems with a focus on first-call resolution. Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert.

• Posts payments and prepares daily deposits.

• Research and respond to all patient inquiries/medical billing questions received by telephone and mail.

• Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments.

• Try to resolve account balances to zero before accounts are forwarded to an outside agency for collection.

• Maintains the strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• This position requires a High School Degree or equivalent completion.

Experience

• 1 year of medical provider experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.

Communication

• Excellent oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively. Bilingual is not required but preferred.

Work Style

• Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed, analyze and interpret information, and interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
