Position Summary The Patient Access Trainer is responsible for education, training and maintaining of all processes in the Patient Access Department. They must provide support and training to all support services and vendors who provided services to Shore Medical Center.# Core Duties # ###Create clear and detailed training material for all new staff. # ###Maintain all educational materials for current registrations staff and support services # ###Create and Maintain Competencies for department # ###Review Competencies with Staff to ensure all training and education is provided to staff and support services # ###Provide Training and Education with the following systems: Cerner, AS400, Passport and all other programs used in the Patient Access Department. # ###Coordinate Training and Education programs with the department Preceptors. # ###Create training schedules and materials for all new hires based upon their skill sets. # ###Coordinate Preceptor Program on an ongoing basis # ###Maintain Department Policy and Procedures with regards to Registration/Scheduling # ###Provide support to Application Specialist and Information Technology Department when testing or redesigning systems. # ###Perform registration and scheduling duties when volume dictates. # ###All other duties assigned by leadership# Qualifications # ###High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent work experience # ###2-4 years# experience Admissions, Outpatient Registration, Patient Scheduling and other Patient Access functions # ###Competent skill level in PC technology including MS Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and Industry Standard Software preferred # ###Excellent customer service/guest relations skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred # ###Knowledge in CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology preferred Additional information # ###To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
