The Patient Access Site Leader II is responsible for the oversight of all Patient Access Services within their specific acute care facility. They will also assist the PAS Site Leader 3 and/or S3 Registration Lead with standard work implementation at their facility. This individual will be engaged with creating a culture of Patient Centered Care and Customer Service, consistent with Sutter's Organization's Mission, Values and Vision. The PAS Site Leader II collaborates with staff and leadership within the facility to create standard processes in accordance to Sutter expectations and ensure consistency of practices as well as continuous process improvement within the Patient Access arena. This position manages and coordinates all patient access functions within their designated facility.
The role of the PAS Site Leader II is to develop, maintain and complete monthly statistical reports for the PAS Site Leader 3 and/or Registration Lead, East/West on established KPI's for the Patient Access departments such as: productivity, POS, QA and compliance. This position will attend leadership meetings for their designated facility and represent the Registration Lead, East/West when appropriate. The PAS Site Leader II will report as required to the PAS Site Leader 3 and/or Registration Lead, East/West on project initiatives and issues that need assistance as well as monthly report outs.
The PAS Site Leader II will be the lead resource/contact for the Patient Access department at their designated facility in relationship to the ongoing EPIC changes and will collaborate with their colleagues throughout the Sutter Health system to ensure standard processes are followed as they relate to Epic. They will be responsible for coordinating training compliance for Patient Access in conjunction with the Training Team.
Bachelor's in Healthcare Finance Management preferred or equivalent education/experience. High school diploma required.
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or qualified to obtain within one year preferred.
EPIC Certification or proficient to obtain within one year preferred.
Three to five years of previous admitting experience required.
Two years of previous management experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of patient access functions in acute and non-acute care settings including S3 Shared Services integrated workflows
Knowledge of principals, methods and techniques related to compliant healthcare billing / collections
Extensive knowledge of work standards, productivity measures, quality control and workload distribution
Demonstrates leadership skills and communication to provide constructive feedback to team members to support continuous improvement
Ability to effectively resolve conflicts amount individuals and/or work groups
Strong time management skills and ability to manage frequent in-person contacts while effectively maintaining department operations
Excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills
Knowledge of E.H.R. systems, Epic
Solid understanding of hospital management principle's, practices and procedures
Knowledge of medical coding and terminology
Possess a personal presence that is characterized by honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others
Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to change quickly
Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles
Knowledge of system interfaces that may include; Experian eCN, E-signature, On-Base Scanning, etc.
