Job Summary
The Patient Access Services Representative is responsible for coordinating pre-visit activities for UK HealthCare patients including appointment coordination and scheduling; resolution of patient complaints; collection and verification of demographic information and insurance/payer source information and correction of registration errors; and maintaining HIPAA compliance and complying with all UKHC polices regarding patient privacy and confidentiality. This position will also participate in unit and Enterprise activities to improve efficiency, quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented; possess patient scheduling and health insurance knowledge; have the ability to multi-task with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; be proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); have solid time management, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills; and have a high level of respect for confidentiality.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
Associate degree and at least four years of healthcare customer service experience preferred; previous experience working with patient scheduling highly preferred.
