Work Hours/Shift:

PRN Day

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Greets all customers (patients, guests, families, staff, physicians, vendors, etc) in a helpful and courteous manner while extending exemplary customer service.

  • Registers patients for Outpatient and Inpatient services, ensuring patient demographics and account information is appropriate for patient account type as determined by patient's visit and as directed by Patient Access Leadership.

  • Responsible for placing clear and thorough financial assessments, authorizations/pre-certs, and/or benefit memos on patient accounts to ensure expeditious billing and to protect financial standing of AdventHealth.

  • Meets or exceeds accuracy standard goal determined by Patient Access Leadership.

  • Ensures integrity of patient accounts by working error reports daily, entering accurate data, and documenting all attempts made to collect and/or obtain missing documentation.

  • Meets or exceeds upfront collection standard goal assigned to location of responsibility to protect financial standing of AdventHealth.

  • Performs eligibility and benefits verification applicable to patients visit. Uses utmost caution that authorizations and pre-certifications are correct and as accurate as possible to avoid rejections and/or denials.

  • Specifically takes responsibility for current monthly standard of total patient wait time in department, by ensuring all pre-registered and walk-in patient accounts are created and/or completed timely.

  • Daily prepares to begin work immediately, by being at workstation as scheduled by department leadership in order to offer continuous patient service and be available for all clinical partners registration needs.

  • Maintains schedule flexibility and exhibits effective time management skills by monitoring time and attendance to limit use of unauthorized overtime.

  • Adheres to HIPAA regulations by verifying pertinent information to determine caller or visitor authorization level before releasing account information.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Proficient in using multiple computer applications interchangeably.

  • Communicates professionally with an acceptable use of English and spelling.

  • Ability to follow directions.

  • Works independently in most situations while multitasking.

  • Capable of working with people of various diverse backgrounds.

  • Customer service skills.

  • Typing skills equal to or greater than 27 words per minute net.

  • Knowledge of computer programs including Cerner, Registration screens preferred

  • Medical Terminology preferred

  • Successful completion of AdventHealth Registration Training class (training will be provided post-hire, if not previously completed) preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Prior Collections Experience preferred

Job Summary:

Under supervision, registers Emergency service patients in a fast paced environment. Meets or exceeds accuracy and upfront collection standard goals monthly. Completes registration at patient's bed side, ensuring patients have been educated on Emergency Department benefits and financial responsibility to hospital, documenting all attempts accordingly. Adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.

The Patient Access Representative (PAR) is a member of the Clinic Access Department at Moffitt Cancer Center.# The Clinic Access Department handles more than 6,500 patient calls or appointments weekly, schedules and registers all services for all outpatient visits.# The PAR registers and schedules as part of his or her duties.# Some PAR#s perform these duties face to face, while others do it in a call center setting with not face to face patient contact.# ## We are currently looking for a Patient Access Representative (PAR) to join our team.# Position Highlights: The Patient Access Representative (PAR) is responsible for registering and checking in patients as they arrive for their visit and for scheduling any orders and appointments requested by the patient#s care team as patients depart. PAR#s based in our Call Center perform registration and scheduling of appointments by phone. PAR#s gather accurate information, explain forms and policies and answer questions from our patients.
