About The East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center

East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU Health Medical Center is the region's preferred facility for cardiovascular care. The six-story tower houses clinical space, diagnostic services and cardiovascular operating rooms, including a hybrid operating room. It features 120 beds for patients undergoing procedures for cardiac medicine, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery.

Position Summary

  • Performs patient registration.

  • Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling.

  • Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations.

  • Performs patient and customer relations.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School or equivalent (GED) or higher is required.

  • Associate Degree or higher: preferred

  • 2 years Customer Service is required

  • 1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.

  • Basic computer skills

  • Monday to Friday 8am

  • 5pm

  • Benefit eligible.
