We are hiring a Patient Access Manager to join our Admitting Team in Albuquerque, NM

This full-time job is located at Lovelace Shared Services, organizational support departments for all Lovelace facilities including Coding, Finance, Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle, Marketing, and the Resource Team. Patient Access Manager Job Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of managed care, worker's compensation, government and state of Medicaid insurance benefits deductibles, co-insurance/co-pay, authorization and patient financial responsibility

  • Position oversees an Insurance Verification, Financial Counseling, and Pre-Registration team that performs insurance verifications, authorizations, and patient follow up activities.

  • Responsible for providing root-cause analysis and implementing action plans to significantly improve work flow and ensure patient benefits are completed timely in accordance with company policy and procedures

Patient Access Manager Education and Experience Job Requirements:
  • Associate's degree - education may be substituted for relative experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of Healthcare insurance experience, and a minimum of three (3) years of management experience in an insurance management role, preferably in a multi-division healthcare business

  • Advanced Computer Skill desired

  • Excellent project management organization skills

  • Excellent staff mentorship and educational skills

  • Problem solving & critical thinking skills

  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with a strong phone presence

  • Knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to insurance benefits, financial counseling and collection of any monies due at the time of service

  • Skill in evaluating information or situation and making judgments based on facts

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with insurance companies, patients, employees, and the public

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems
