Learn more at#www.focalpointchicago.org#. # Position Purpose: The Patient Access Educator (PAE) is primarily responsible for the facilitation and provision of technical, culture-driven, and compliance-focused curriculums for Patient Access, Physician Center Registration/Scheduling departments. The PAE is responsible for the creation, deployment, analysis, and updating training in all areas related to the patient, registration and scheduling, including employee on-boarding, patient service, workflow, compliance, and revenue cycle. # Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures) Develop and maintain curriculum (course objectives, outline, participant guide, facilitator guide, job aids, knowledge checks, assessments, engaging activities) using adult learning principles that incorporate current education principles and business practices.# Maintain training documents, including class roster, assessment scores, completion of required courses, skills/knowledge gaps, attendance, process, training materials, etc. Create knowledge checks and assessment questions to evaluate understanding and application of concepts to evaluate skills, knowledge, and ability of participant to perform job. Plan and organize all details needed to successfully facilitate a class, including technology such as arranging Microsoft Teams or Zoom sessions, conference phone lines, computers, and/or projectors. Facilitate technical and compliance training to operational areas in multiple office locations using various methods such as face-to-face, distance, or a blended approach. The delivery of training could be to a group as small as 1 to as large as 20 participants. Create a positive and fun learning environment for participants, while managing physical and virtual classroom sessions to ensure learning objectives are met. Assess comprehension and understanding of learner(s) and adjust facilitation style to address needs. Maintain business knowledge and skills by observing processes as well as completing side-by-side training in various departments/clinical sites throughout the hospital. Identify curriculum efficiencies, such as topics that would better serve as an online course vs face-to-face delivery. Collaborate with Information Technology support personnel, to create, test, and implement systems impacting Patient Access departments and reference resources to maintain consistency of processes. Meet monthly with PA Managers and Team Leaders in one-on-one work sessions to identify education needs and skill gaps of the various staff functions throughout the departments. Design and conduct audits to address identified gaps in staff knowledge and inconsistencies among work processes across care sites.# Track progress of corrective training by providing data to respective Team member. Meet monthly with Executive Director of Revenue Cycle and Director of Patient Access to discuss skill gaps and needs across the organization and to outline training material and implementation plan. Qualifications: Equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience OR,#4 or more years customer service experience and/or operational area experience in health care or other related fields, to include 1 or more years of facilitation. Knowledge of system support issues that affect billing, collection, and cash application functions. Knowledge of healthcare computer systems relating to patient access and patient financial services. Ability to communicate effectively Meditech Expanse experience Ability to type minimum 30 wpm OneSource eligibility Quadax Eligibility
