Job Summary:#Greets, receives and escorts patients as required and consistent with customer service guidelines. Collects and verifies patient demographic, insurance eligibility, and financial information/responsibility and accurately documents in hospital computer system(s).

Responsibilities:
#Responsible for consistent and accurate use and execution of department's established standard operating procedures, supporting tools, software, websites.#Identifies current and prior patient responsible balances, educates patients on their financial responsibilities, and collects same.#Screens self pay patients, identifies potential solution(s), and facilitates solution application process (manual and/or electronic) or patient payment as appropriate#Interviews patient's bedside as needed to facilitate timely and effective solutions (ED only).#Assists patients in establishing secured installments plans when applicable.#Ensures all hospital and regulatory requirements are met (including, but not limited to, signatures, distributing patient rights, health care proxies, HIPAA requirements etc.).#Ensures completion of registration paperwork to facilitate efficient patient flow.#Meets performance standards established by Patient Access leadership, including, but not limited to: quality, collections, customer service, screening/solution rates, productivity)

Qualifications:
#High School Diploma or equivalent required.#1-2 years experience in a hospital/clinic/physician office or related field preferred.#Aptitude for/familiarity with patient access tools, systems, and technologies#Excellent customer service/communications skills.#Comfortable with collection process.#Comfortable with securing solutions for uninsured patients.#Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.#Proven ability and/or expressed willingness to work as part of a team

The Patient Care Director is a key management/leadership position within the Organization and operationalizes the core values of the Organization by promoting patient centered care. The Director has twenty-four hour responsibility/accountability for the Department. # Responsibilities: # # # # # Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards." Guides the Department towards a Patient-Centered Model of Care through implementation of Recovery Principles. Monitors and analyzes trends involving census, acuity, staff resources and changes in patient population and recommends budgets for areas of assigned responsibility. Based on analysis, develops variance reports, corrective action plans and data needed to project future budgetary needs. Develops business plans for new clinical programs and market strategy for each specialty. In collaboration with department directors, designs and supports Division goals and objectives which reflect the philosophy and mission of the Organization. Serves on department and organization committees, task forces and work groups on a voluntary and appointed basis through active participation and follow through on project work. Participates in Joint Commission and regulatory agencies accreditation processes. Collaboratively develops, maintains and evaluates standards of practice, departmental policies and procedures. Provides leadership to clinical staff regarding resource allocation, clinical decision making, and conflict management. Acts as a consultant to other disciplines relative to patient care management.# Collaborates with Chair of Psychiatry in measuring physician productivity. Collaborates effectively with other department managers, administrative personnel and physicians in accordance with the Organization's mission and values. Collaborates with the Nurse Educators, for maintaining a level of staff competency and performance based on the standards and outcomes for patients. Utilizes procedures as defined by Human Resources, and related departments to provide counseling, disciplinary action and/or termination. Creates a climate to assist staff in identifying individual strengths and areas of learning to support staff professional growth. Collaborates with all disciplines in planning, operationalizing and evaluating programs related to patient care. Designs, implements and evaluates systems to maintain and improve care, patient/family satisfaction, cost effectiveness, and staff satisfaction. Acts as a liaison to community mental health providers, advocacy groups and outside agencies to meet community mental health needs. Qualifications: Masters degree in Nursing required. Masters degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing preferred. Certification in specialty preferred. Demonstrate knowledge of patient care in a psychiatric and substance abuse setting. Ability to problem-solve and work collaboratively towards defined patient care outcomes. Management or leadership experience required. Familiarity with staffing models with ability to staff to census and create schedules for operational efficiency. Experience with billing, revenue capture, and insurance denials and appeals preferred. Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively manage expense budget as allocated. Ability to make formal presentations relative to clinical, operational, educational research and financial issues. Current license to practice Nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Must obtain 15 hours of Continuing Education annually to maintain license. Training in Performance Improvement, total Quality Management, and/or Continuous Quality Improvement. Computer literate.
