Position Title Pathways Advisor/Murrysville (Regular Part-Time) Division Vice President Enrollment Management(DIV) Department Murrysville Education Center Job Description

This position serves as a member of the Student Success team to deliver state-of-the-art, comprehensive advising services designed to empower a diverse student population. This position is responsible for guiding a caseload of students on their educational path, and will facilitate the adoption of effective academic planning and decision-making skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: JOB SPECIFIC

  • Assess academic needs and career goals of assigned students. Help students choose and enter a pathway. Advise new and continuing students regarding the completion of a certificate, diploma or degree program.

  • Assist students with understanding the policies and procedures for satisfactory academic progress and graduation.

  • Track student academic progress and completion towards degree milestones and intentionally intervene as necessary.

  • Provide intrusive case management advising for students. Monitor student academic progress and intervene as needed. Assist students in Satisfactory Academic Progress, probation, or and/or academic suspension.

  • Help current students persist by assisting them in navigating their Road Map and making campus and community referrals as needed.

  • Provide compliance advising to student athletes.

  • Utilize various techniques and technologies to provide group, one-on-one, and online advising.

  • Collaborate with assigned School to stay abreast of changes to curricula, prerequisites, admission criteria, etc. Share knowledge of School assignment with advising and counseling colleagues.

  • Collaborate with the Student Success Team to engage in career planning conversations, and assist students in their transition to faculty advisors.

  • Facilitate new student orientation sessions.

  • Utilize available report, tracking, assessment and early alert technologies to implement proactive activities for advisement.

  • Participate in weekend and after hour advising, recruitment and retention initiatives.

  • Participate and actively represent Student Success to campus committees and work groups.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: STANDARD TO THE ROLE

  • Compile data, maintain student program records and complete reports as required.

  • Maintain up-to-date with professional credentials, best practices and current disciplines including continued educational requirements through certifications, seminars, training programs, etc.

  • Maintain and develop work related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross training opportunities.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participate in departmental meetings, various committees and professional organizations as required.

  • Perform additional grade level duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.

  • Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver's license required

CLEARANCES REQUIRED

The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:

  • PA Child History clearance
  • PA Criminal Record Check clearance
  • FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING

  • Two years related work experience in higher education preferred.

  • Experience working with distance education technologies preferred.

Salary $22.58/hour Schedule Days/Hours Monday

  • PT working days/hours to be established, Tuesday

  • PT working days/hours to be established, Wednesday

  • PT working days/hours to be established, Thursday

  • PT working days/hours to be established, Friday

  • PT working days/hours to be established, Hybrid Schedule Available
