Schedule: 0.001 (PRN-Per Diem), Shift: As needed

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under supervision as defined in REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS and according to established policies and procedures assists pathologists in the processing and examination of surgical and cytology specimens and in the performance of autopsies.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:

Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals including physicians, hospital staff, laboratory staff and hospital administration and clients.

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately ninety percent of work time

Minimum Experience:

Ability to learn and utilize computerized patient care management system.

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Must effectively read, write and verbally communicate in the English language

SCHEDULE: 0.001 (PRN-Per Diem), SHIFT: As needed POSITION SUMMARY: Under supervision as defined in Reporting Relationships and according to established policies and procedures obtains patient specimens by venipuncture or skin puncture in the hospital and off-site service settings, performs data documentation and maintenance duties. LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid phlebotomy training statement pursuant to Sections 1242.5 and 1246 of the California Business and Professions Code if phlebotomy practice is included in job duties. Current active CA Phlebotomy License required. Driver License valid in the state of California if travel is required in the execution of job duties such as specimen transport or off-site phlebotomy. EXPERIENCE: Technical training such as that acquired through a phlebotomy training program. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals including physicians, hospital staff, laboratory staff and hospital administration and clients.
