POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will support formulation and definition of system scopes and objectives based on a thorough understanding of software applications, client/business requirements and industry requirements.
The PathDX Product Business Analyst will coordinate with implementation and support teams to identify best workflows for client/business objectives as well as work closely with software architects and development teams to ensure that the direction, scope, dependencies and risks are identified and documented for software development.
This position will require advanced knowledge of multiple SCC software applications, and will be particularly focused in PathDX pathology application and associated applications. This position requires strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) of large-scale development projects. Extensive understanding of multiple functional areas related to complex software projects and the ability to identify and advise best practice workflows, business process improvements along with system improvements through the use of technology is critical.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the translation of the business requirements into concise system requirements for use by the software architects and development teams, for example as product use cases, Business Unit evaluation tasks, and requirement definition, review and or approval activities.
Participates in software risk investigations, to ensure product safety.
Acts to facilitate in depth understanding to both technical and non-technical audiences while fulfilling business needs (use case creation, Business Unit evaluations/clarifications, release notes, domain expert comments)
Identifies, documents and diagrams business requirements and processes
Performs Risk Assessments for development.
Evaluates and responds to sales request for proposals (RFPs) as requested, including product functionality questions as well as preparing workflows or scenarios as requested by prospective clients
Reviews and edits technical manuals and supporting documentation
Participates in the development of new products and services
Collects information to support department initiatives
Assists with validation and testing of delivered software and participates in client training
Supporting sales and marketing efforts includes sales demos and reviewing marketing materials
Performs other duties as directed by senior and executive management
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education Required:
A minimum of a four-year degree in Biology, Medical Technology, Genetics, or Business preferably with a Computer Science concentration. ASCP certification as CT for Cytology or HTL for Histotechnology preferred, or MLT Medical Technology. Well-qualified candidates will have a master's degree in Business Administration.
Experience Required:
The candidate will have advanced experience in using Genetics SoftPathDX (or similar software provided by an SCC competitor) either at SCC or as a client, or have been determined to meet the qualifications as determined by the VP of Genetics. 4-10 years of experience as Business or Data Analyst on several recent projects preferred; experience with data modeling/analysis tools preferred. Prior experience in a pathology laboratory is required. Prior experience in software development as a domain expert, subject matter expert, or consultant is desired. Prior experience writing requirements and use cases a plus.

Travel Required:
Up to 75% travel may be required.
