Description & Requirements

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, a transatlantic law firm, seeks a Patent Coordinator for their North or South Carolina office. This role will support members of the Intellectual Property Practice Group focused on patent prosecution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and file US patent applications

• Provide legal administrative support for patent prosecution (working with attorneys and patent agents to prepare and file prosecution papers)

• Attend to various patent-related formalities (Powers of Attorney, responses to pre-examination notices, papers to make corrections, etc.)

• Manage collection and filing of formal documents (inventor declarations, assignments)

• Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements

• Review Patent Term Adjustment determinations, proofing patents, filing Certificates of Correction, and similar activities

• Special projects as needed (handling portfolio transfers, client reports, etc.)

• Enter billable time, docket management, and file maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree and at least one to two years of patent-related experience preferred.

• The candidate must have excellent computer skills and a strong knowledge of standard office software (e.g., MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat).

• Must have great attention to detail and a disciplined eye for quality checking document accuracy.
