Patent Agent or Technical Advisor (Chemistry)

Top-rated law firm is seeking a Technical Advisor or Patent Agent with 1 - 4 years of prior patent prosecution experience. As part of the Firm’s Intellectual Property team, this position is responsible for performing highly complex and sensitive client work requiring a high level of professional capability and skill. The primary responsibilities of this position include preparing draft patent applications, drafting responses to communications from the USPTO, assisting in diligence matters (clearance studies and opinion work), and supporting technical aspects of litigation where needed. This role assists attorneys in the delivery of quality legal services to clients in an efficient and cost-effective manner.The person in this position should have one of the following: (i) at least a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering with relevant research expertise; or (ii) a Master’s degree or a PhD in a similar chemistry-based field. The candidate needs to be a self-starter and have a can-do attitude, possess excellent organizational skills, and must have excellent academic credentials.
