Pasta Line Cook

We are a fun, relaxed, upscale authentic Italian restaurant. We're looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact chef's specifications and set up stations for the menu. To succeed here you must have a passion for cooking and set the bar high for food quality. You should also enjoy working in a fast paced, high volume restaurant

Responsibilities

• Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods,

• quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.

• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth

• service period.

• Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe

• specifications.

• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

• Answer, report and follow executive chef or sous chef's instructions

• Clean up station and take care of leftover food

• Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers,

• fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, and refrigeration

• equipment.

• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.

• Stock, inventory appropriately

• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or pasta cook

• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures

• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

• Familiar with industry's best practices
