Position Summary

The position of Party Chief of Marine Construction Survey Services exists for the purpose of managing and carrying out required tasks in the field for survey projects, as requested by manager or project specific manager, and / or field client representatives for the survey project's field activities. This position is responsible for assuring that client needs are effectively met regarding field activities, and that all tasks are performed efficiently, responsibly and in accordance with safe work procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

  • Assist new and fellow employees in performing their work in accordance with safe work procedures

  • Coordinating and communicating with clients, crew members and project managers

  • Conduct and document daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA)/ Safety pre-tower meetings

  • Responsible for offshore operations including personnel, daily progress and asset utilization

  • Train and adhere to OII, DOTD or client company's specific requirements

  • Managing and carrying out specific job tasks as requested by client or project manager

  • Comply with company safety rules and training, conduct operations safely and report any unsafe condition or practices immediately to his/her supervisor

  • Responsible for the care and safety of company equipment

  • Training of fellow field personnel

NON-ESSENTIAL

  • All other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no direct reports however has in the field temporary supervisory responsibilities of the assigned crew.

Reporting Relationship

  • Project Manager Marine Consrtuction Surveys

  • Operations Manager Marine Construction Surveys

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Three or more years experience as a Sr Surveyor in the Marine Construction Survey field

  • Must be proficient with a variety of the field concepts, practices, procedures and equipment operations such as GPS, USBL, LBL and Navigation Software

  • Must have valid driver's license and suitable driving record that is able to meet company driver requirements

  • Must have or be able to obtain TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)

Must have knowledge of basic computer skills, major survey equipment manufacturer's software and equipment

DESIRED

  • Two year technical degree or higher in field of study

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows.

  • Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.

  • Requires working on or near moving and vibrating equipment.

  • Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85db and the light is intense/glare.

  • Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

  • Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes and gases.

  • Work surface is stable, height is elevated.

Assignments are based on patient acuity, staff level, ability, and program schedule. * Makes appropriate change to assignments as patient/unit needs/acuity changes; Communicates changes in level of care/acuity to CNO, Assessment and Referral Staff, and AOC. * Hold Charge Nurse accountable to ensures that tasks are carried out as assigned in a timely fashion. * Ensures on-coming staff (RNs, LPNs, and MHTs) participates in the change of shift report 7a-7p and 7p-7a to receive report on patient's current status. All Charge Nurses will tape shift report to be available to the patients as the on-coming staff receives report. * Acts as liaison between interdisciplinary team members to ensure that behavioral care plans are developed and appropriate to meet the needs of the patients. The nursing care plan is updated and appropriate as problems develop or goals and interventions are met. * Will make unit rounds to troubleshoot throughput issues and resolve other issues/ concerns. * Ensure the Charge Nurse is completing incident report prior to final submission. Quality: * Participates in unit-wide audits as indicated. Will conduct audit within 24 hours of admission to ensure time lines are being met and plans of care are developed appropriately. * Ensures that restraint log is accurate and follows-up with individual staff members for completion where indicated. * Ensures that established procedures are maintained for tracking and managing personal belongings and takes ownership to follow-up with nursing staff. * Ensures that nursing staff are appropriately tracking and maintaining hearing aids, eyeglasses and dentures, including labeling, storage, and per documentation. * Ensures Nursing Staff are documenting accurate interventions according to the plan of care during their shift rotation and will evaluate for completion and content: * I&O documented as indicated * graph vitals signs and weights as ordered * all information required on MAR documented correctly (initials, vital signs, allergy) * nursing assessment complete without any blanks * allergy is documented on all physician order forms * random audit of charge nurses documenting temperatures on refrigerators * medication nurses documenting infections in binders on each unit * Ensures MHTs are conducting thorough room checks to maintain a safe environment. * Ensures that patient's medical complaints are identified and properly treated. * Follows up with responsible staff member where indicated to ensure that documentation is complete. * Will participate in monthly Nursing meetings. Will also participate in training activities as indicated. * Will assist CNO with evaluating the performance of staff at time of hire and on annual basis. Will hold staff accountable with meeting regulatory requirements for CMS, joint commission, and facility guidelines. * Assist the Assessment and Referral Staff to ensure patients are meeting admission criteria. * All Infection control reporting and rounds as assigned by the CNO.
