Part-time medical research position open at the Foundation for Mood Disorders in New York Upper East Side. Medical Doctor preferred. Previous Researcher Experience Required.

We seek an individual to fill a part-time medical researcher position. The job involves reviewing medical records, extracting relevant data, data entry, and management of the study data-base.

Required skills: the successful applicant should be able to use a PC computer, read and understand medical records, understand medical terminology, and be familiar with database software. Desired skills: knowledge of psychiatry and terminology relating to psychiatric disorders, familiarity with SPSS software, basic understanding of statistics, have experience managing a complex database, familiarity with best practices for computer data backup and storage, and excellent reading and writing skills.

This is a part-time position, and would be a good fit for college grads and graduate students with interest in or experience in the medical sciences. For applicants with advanced skills, the opportunity exists for travel and presentations at scientific meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities: * Conducts experiments using advanced researchtechniques specific to subject matter of the research project.
