The Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver is an interdisciplinary professional school of international studies that prepares students for careers in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Position Summary

The Josef Korbel School of International Studies seeks an energetic and experienced part-time (non-benefited) Graphic Designer to support the school and its programs. Under general supervision, the Graphic Designer will design electronic and printed materials and also film and edit video for faculty and staff for special projects related to the school.

  • Conceptualizes, designs, and produces promotional materials such as flyers, ads, and brochures.

  • Designs and produces camera-ready art including graphs, charts, posters, digitization of graphics, line-art, and/or photos.

  • Creates electronically-designed page layouts and imports word processing files into page layouts, as appropriate to the position; may develop and produce web-based graphics, as requested.

  • Produces illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate.

  • Current on marketing trends and analysis.

  • Consults with faculty and staff to identify their graphics needs, budget constraints, and reasonable deadlines for the project; serves as a liaison between the client and printers/publishers.

  • Coordinates the printing production process to ensure quality: writes printing and other reproduction specifications (selects ink, paper, and print quality); inspects proofs for accuracy; recommends contractors (typesetters, printers, illustrators, photographers, cartographers).

  • Writes and edits basic copy, as appropriate, which may include press releases in some instances.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

This is a non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.

  • Skills in the utilization of specified computerized graphic design programs.

  • Ability to analyze graphic and technical information and create interpretive illustrations.

  • Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements.

  • Knowledge of printing and/or reproduction processes and techniques.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret user graphic requirements.

  • Ability to develop print and/or reproduction specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Proficient with the MS Office Suite and Adobe.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in film and film editing.

  • Experience in photography and photo editing.

  • Experience in external marketing.

  • Experience in copy editing.

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Work Schedule

  • Part time roughly 20 hours per week between the hours of 9AM-4PM.

Position Summary The part-time temporary Administrative Assistant provides executive level coordination, administrative support, for the Acting Dean, assists with managing the Dean's Office and represents the Acting Dean and the Office of the Dean in a professional manner. This position also supports our Associate Deans and administrative needs for the new Scrivner Institute. Exercises sound judgment, tact, confidentiality and discretion in all areas. Coordinates administrative support for strategic and organizational projects. In coordination with the Acting Dean, implements decisions based on a thorough understanding of the Acting Dean's priorities and expectations. Records meeting notes and follows through on implementation of decisions. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional and collaborative working environment. This is a non-benefited, temporary 6 month position, not to exceed 1,000 hours in a calendar year.
