Job Description:

The Part-Time Graphic Designer must be an innovative thinker who is looking for an opportunity to grow and develop artistic, professional, and organizational skills. Primary responsibilities will include tasks such as online banners and ads, digital and printed materials, event promotions, print packaging, building and maintaining production-ready files for all print and electronic collateral (four-color, web, and many digital mediums) and getting clean and correct files out the door on time, all the time.

Additional design tasks may include: website content, email design and development, promotional design, presentation development, and interactive environments. This is your opportunity to take your creative talent to the next level!

The Part-Time Graphic Designer position has the potential to become a full-time position with benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to execute effective visual solutions through written descriptions

  • Editing/repurposing current art/sales collateral for use at our properties

  • Maintaining brand standards across all design work

  • Produce fun and creative new art for a variety of platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email, web, and print

  • Utilize strong written/grammar skills to edit/revise/proofread copy

  • Support on-site teams by communicating and providing them with the assets they need by the deadlines requested

  • Prioritize importance of projects in our fast-paced marketing environment

  • Stay on the pulse of current design trends and constantly push the creative envelope you're designing for college students!

Key Characteristics for a successful Part-Time Graphic Designer:

  • Excellent eye for design, colors, and basic knowledge of design principals/hierarchy

  • Working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

  • Must be open to constructive criticism and feedback

  • Able to take direction and problem solve with little supervision

  • Ability to produce excellent work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

  • Be adaptable to changing circumstances and ability think on your feet

Required/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has a degree in Graphic Design, fine art, or related field.

  • Be willing to commit to a minimum of 20-30 hours a week.

Working under general supervision of a Senior EGD or Director of EGD, the Experiential Graphic Designer designs and develops a variety of deliverables, including brand development, signage and environmental graphics programs. Specific responsibilities will includes: * Actively participates in and oversees the design, development and production of environmental graphics * Creates innovative, creative and complete design concepts and presents to clients * Prepares plans, message schedules, sections, elevations and detailed drawing packages * Manages the budget, scope and schedule for the environmental graphic design portion of projects * Creates and maintains effective key agency relationships REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Graphics, Industrial Design or Interior Design, or equivalent experience * 5+ years' experience with 3D/2D graphics, signage, digital printing REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Working knowledge of the commercial interior architecture and/or design industry * Demonstrated competency in all phases of environmental graphics * Understanding of branding concepts and the potential for their application to, relationship with and integration into the built environment * Skilled visual sense and understanding of typography, composition, multiple media platforms, legibility, standards development, documentation, fabrication and implementation * Sound Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign skills * Knowledge of video editing, interactive design, industrial design and 3D design/visualization and softwares (Autodesk 3dsmax, Vray) will be plus. * Excellent verbal, graphic and written communication skills. Working Conditions: For the majority of the time the Experiental Graphic Designer will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist and reach. On occasion individuals will be required to visit a client site to perform site verifications and field surveys.
