Functions

  • Deliver personalized customer service and the type of genuine care expected from your neighbor.

  • Tackle a variety of financial transactions ranging from check cashing to cash depositing to loan payments to counting currency and coin accurately.

  • Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature (i.e. cash handling) where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

  • Hold financial conversations with clients and prospects to cross-sell other bank services and refer customers to other departments, as appropriate.

  • Be knowledgeable of products, fees and policies and stay current on offerings -- ability to make product suggestions, with assistance.

  • Answer customer questions with a can-do attitude, no matter how complex or technical (and they are frequently both complex and technical).

  • Constantly look for ways to "WOW" customers and community members alike through all of life's changes.

  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations that apply to your position, and keep up to date on regulation changes.

  • Maintain working knowledge of our policies and procedures regarding the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations that apply to your position.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) cash handling experience, and a track record of outstanding customer service

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to proficiently preform a wide variety of tasks.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, 10-key, and a variety of office equipment, knowledge of Excel software applications

  • Demonstrated sales skills, a plus

  • High school diploma, vocational training, or equivalent

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work involves:

Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm) The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Patient Access Leadership in managing daily operations within the assigned client Facility or within the Patient Access Contact Center operations. Supplements staff training, coaching and support; issue identification, assessment and resolution; and technical support within the assigned work environment in order to achieve desired outcomes and compliance with Optum360 and client policies/procedures and standards. Provides input in hiring/firing decisions, as well as performance appraisals. May perform quality reviews and analysis to support internal controls, monitor employee performance and assist in staff development, retention and selection. The Patient Access Supervisor is an integral part of the patient care team and is responsible for clinic patient registration and scheduling activities including patient identification, demographic and insurance updates, appropriate physician or service identification, visit type, utilizing scheduling guidelines and questionnaires. Provides operational guidance and support to assigned staff under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, disseminates policy/procedure updates, and supports coverage of other departmental divisions, as required. Responsible for the development of associate work schedules and assignments to ensure cost effective staffing providing optimal work flow needs that meets performance requirements. Primary Responsibilities: Patient/Centralized Scheduling with Template management and Authorizations and Referrals: * Coordinate appointment requests received via telephone, email, internet, electronic medical record and fax * Identify correct patients in Host System. Verify / update patient demographic and insurance data as needed. Run RTE (Real Time Eligibility) for new and existing patients. As appropriate, assure the payer/plan is appropriately aligned with the eligibility information obtained from the RTE * For emergent and urgent visits, request Authorization information * Schedule patients according to scheduling guidelines; patient and provider preferences * Correct provider, correct visit type in the correct slot; utilizing questionnaires as appropriate * Remind patients of co pay / deductible and outstanding balance payment expectations * Refer patients with financial questions to the Financial Care Counselor or designee, as appropriate * Coordinate all labs/procedures in accordance by physician /provider request Scheduling tests and procedures: * Complete ancillary scheduling accurately, according to physician orders * Ensure all tests and consultations are scheduled in the correct sequence * Explain test preparations to patients, according to standard practice instructions Rescheduling: * Schedule/reschedule appointments in the scheduling system, following established policies and procedures regarding contacting patients, collection and updating of demographic, insurance information Customer Service, Safety and Work Culture: * Interact with patients, visitors and staff in a professional manner at all times * Meet or exceed patient expectations at each encounter; anticipate patients' needs * Consistently use exemplary customer service skills in daily interactions with patients, their loved ones and each other * Provide directions, organize escorts, and arrange for interpreters as needed * Follow Service Recovery as needed and elevate concerns or situations to clinic leadership as soon as possible * Contribute to a positive work environment by living Hospital's values and demonstrating expected behaviors * Report safety issues timely to leadership and report personal safety incidents within 24 hours of occurrence * Identify operational improvements to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of services provided. Communicate opportunities to management Referrals: * Follow all referral policies and procedures to include patient engagement in scheduling and documentation of scheduling status Templates: * Make changes to provider schedule templates for specific date changes * Apply knowledge and use of template availability through the use of status indicators, open slots and scheduling warning messages Attend meetings and training sessions: * Attend staff meetings and other meetings as requested * Participate in all system, regulatory and policy training * Attend Clinic and Scheduling Supervisor training / education sessions Required Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent work experience * 4 years of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration Department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle role * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint * Experience with Patient Access technologies Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (Business/Management, Healthcare Administration, or other Healthcare discipline) * 1 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role * 2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare environment * Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) Careers with Optum.
