Located in suburban northwest Houston in the heart of the CyFair Community, the college provides a full range of offerings including unique programs in fire science technology, logistics management and sonography. Coordinates logistics, services, and support surrounding art gallery exhibits. Includes coordinating support functions of direct public/student contact programs and areas to ensure smooth operations.
Supervises the installation of larger exhibitions by gallery attendants and volunteers; curates exhibitions and installs exhibitions
Works with Gallery Committee to create annual calendar and coordinate the dates of exhibitions and hours of operation with other CFC Events
Supervises and trains staff consisting of student workers, docents and volunteers
Does advance prep for exhibitions: creating and distributing Call for Work notices
Prepares necessary press release information; orders and/or produces necessary signage, supplies, services, and equipment. Orders food, flowers and linens for table and set-up for gallery events
Supervises and attends gallery events such as receptions, Cy-Fest, donor receptions, etc.
Prepares documents and forms necessary to gallery operation; prepares statements for exhibition catalogs or brochures
Responsible for care and maintenance of gallery equipment and supplies
Designs and sets lights for exhibitions, must not have a problem with ladders or heights
Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Must be able to work on ladders and lift up to 25 lbs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, self-starter.
Efficient in Microsoft Publisher and Excel.
Excellent editing skills.
Ability to display art in various forms.
