Part-time Classroom Teacher: 6th-7th grade History and 7th grade Logic
Austin Classical School: ACS is a classical, Christian, blended-schedule school that currently serves families with pre-Kindergarten through 7th grade students. Students are on-campus 3 days per week 5th grade and up. Learning is split between school and home. Professional educators provide lesson plans for each week and instruction on campus days. On non-campus days, students complete assigned schoolwork under the guidance of their parents.

Responsibilities:
  • Create a joyful, grace-filled environment where students enjoy learning together.
  • Develop thoughtful and clear lesson plans for both on-campus and home school days.
  • Communicate consistently, truthfully and graciously with co-teaching parents.
  • Engage students in age-appropriate, Logic-level, classroom instruction utilizing .
  • Set measurable objectives for students to move towards mastery.
  • Assess students both formally and informally and reflect results in their quarterly grade reports.
  • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom, taking care of curricula and equipment belonging to ACS.
  • Encourage students to uphold the school-wide READ expectations with regards to classroom behavior.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School.
On-Campus Time

Requirements:
  • The calendar school year runs from August 13, 2018 to May 24, 2019. The specific class schedule is as follows:
    • 7th grade Logic- Mondays and Wednesdays- 11:05-11:55
    • 7th grade History (Medieval & Modern)- Mondays and Wednesdays- 12:30-1:40
    • 6th grade History (Greek & Roman)- Mondays and Wednesdays 1:45-2:55
    • Teacher should plan to arrive on campus 30 minutes prior to first class to prepare.
  • Monthly faculty meetings
  • Parent/teacher conferences (as needed)
Salary for the position ranges between $3000 - $4000 per class depending upon relevant experience. Teachers are paid monthly August through May.
