VIEW JOBS 1/14/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-14T00:00
Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Dilworth in finding a nanny for their two children, a girl and boy. The nanny would be needed on Mondays from 4:30 pm – 10:00 pm, Tuesdays from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Wednesdays from 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Thursdays from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm, and Fridays are an optional day where the family needs care from 4:30 to 5:30 (with some date night later evenings).

The best nanny for this family would be a take charge kind of nanny, who will be able to initiate what needs to be done, will be firm but fair, and won't let the kids get away with bad behavior, but also will love them, hug them, snuggle them, and comfort them like they are family. Both children are extremely articulate for their ages and their intellectual capacity to reason is more mature than their emotionally ability to process disappointment. The children thrive when you spell out exactly what they can expect in advance and are consistent in executing it. The family is working on strategies to deal with disappointment, but it’s easiest to avoid surprises to their son’s expectations and stay consistent when possible. If the nanny is a pushover, the children will walk all over them, but they are as fun as you’ll find if someone has the disposition for being both firm and fun with the children.

Both children have peanut or tree nut allergies, so it would be a major plus if the nanny has previous experience with children who have peanut allergies. Nanny must be trained on the Epi-Pen and be ok working in a nut FREE environment. The parent’s ask that the nanny be able to help with light household tasks pertaining to the children including: unloading the dishwasher, nut-free cooking, packing son's lunches, laundry, putting kids clothes away, changing the kids sheets occasionally, and carpool. The parent’s believe in growth mindset, in guided problem solving, 1-2-3- magic and in a more minimal approach to toys than other families in their peer group. The family would also prefer a nanny that had some formal Early Childhood Education experience, who is versed in these philosophies or academically receptive to them. Their son is in the early stages of reading and needs someone who can guide him through reading, without frustrating him at bedtime. The nanny should be patient with the children, and any prior experience with teaching a child to read would be a plus. Ideally the nanny would stay with the family long-term (as their last nanny did) and build a long-term relationship with the family. The kids are both fun loving kids who embrace exuberance for life and joy about little things in life. They love dance parties, art projects, reading, reading, and more reading stories, playing hide and seek, and playing pretend. We avoid screen time as much as possible- avoiding it completely during the week.

This position starts ASAP and pay is $20.00 an hour with paid major holidays, continued pay while family is away, and an annual bonus for a job well done. The best nanny candidate for this position will pass a pre-screening interview, reference check, background check, have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, and be CPR/First Aid Certified.

Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency Charlotte NC
