This job serves as both a clinical and administrative resource for all APPs. This role will (be to maintain a clinical practice in addition to) include designing and implementing development programs, compensation systems, leadership infrastructure, quality programs and other resources for APPs. Serves as an advisor to company leadership on all matters involving the APPs; and will act as the dyad partner to the Medical Director APPs and will work closely with the system APP Leads.

Education

Required

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Physician Assistant or Nurse Midwife degree and licensure:
  • Must be fully licensed and credentialed as outlined by the Medical Staff Office of the company

  • Current NCCPA certification is required for Physician Assistants and must be eligible for state Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners in the state of practice

  • Current State License is required Advanced Practice Nurses and must be eligible for state Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the State Board of Nursing in the state practice

Work Experience

Required

  • 3 years experience working with Advanced Practice Providers including Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Physician Assistants, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Certified Nurse Midwives with MHA or MBA OR 1 year experience as a Lead/Supervisor of Advanced Practice Providers for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, Physician Assistant or Nurse Midwife.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider reimbursement regulations and standards, as well as, documentation and collaboration/supervision requirements.

  • Knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider accreditation standards and Federal and State medical licensure and registration requirements.

  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to the clinical practice of primary categories of Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Understanding of operational, documentation, and reimbursement requirements of Advanced Practice Providers in diverse clinical settings.

  • Knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider educational requirements and associated program requirements (i.e. collaborative agreement, rotation requirements, policies and procedures).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner with system-wide executive leadership, Advanced Practice Providers, physicians and departmental management.

  • Skilled at negotiations and reaching settlements in disputes.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, complete multiple tasks in a limited period of time and handle large volumes of paperwork efficiently.

  • Ability to recognize major issues confronting the health care industry relative to the ongoing continuing education of Advanced Practice Clinicians.

  • Strong technical, analytical, and judgment skills to interpret regulations and supervise staff.

Light Work

  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.

The incumbent may work with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.

Exposure to occasional noise. Work with a minimum direction and periodic supervision. Physical Functions Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours. Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes of workday (i.e., assisting in stocking/maintaining inventory levels). Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level (i.e., to replenish fountain syrups). Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e., utilizing a hand-truck). Ability to bend at waist with some twisting up to one hour of workday. Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands up to all day. (This handwork requires eye-hand coordination, and may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs).
