Cummins Sales and Service is looking for an experienced parts professional to support the San Leandro Field Service. Under some supervision, this role will enter data into system to maintain up-to-date stock/inventory and records; retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries (for example on inventory levels or delivery schedules.) Perform other routine administrative activities according to the organization's established procedures. These activities may include responding to technician escalations, order allocation, part profile & inventory records; preparing reports, domestic and international transportation related procedures and completing forms (receipt, transfer, delivery, dispatch, etc.)

Key responsibilities for this San Leandro, CA-based Parts Specialist:

  • Receive incoming goods,accurately sort, label/package, store goods and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.

  • Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams

  • Completes training in line with business requirements.

  • Participates actively in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and performs planned operator care and maintenance tasks.

  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet business goals.

Experience, Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • Knowledge of Cummins and Onan parts system & forklift operations preferred.

  • An ability and enthusiasm to support our Power Generation and Industrial Field Service branch.

Responsibilities The Rental Sales Representative is responsible for developing Generator rental business in the assigned territory. A Rental Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining and improving relationships with existing and potential customers. * Rent and sell all supporting product lines, including generators, air compressors and temperature control equipment to meet sales objectives and revenue plan in the assigned territory (and surrounding) areas. * Manage the sales territory by analyzing, planning and controlling the market objectives and sales opportunities with a plan of accomplishment. * Build relationships with customer base; prospect new customers. * Maximize sales in assigned territory – analyzing sales opportunities, solving customer problems, and assisting sales promotion. * Complete and timely sales coverage of all customers/prospects within the assigned territory. * Coordinate financing; assist in gathering credit information and collections on past due accounts. * Review invoice and rental agreements for accuracy. * Follow up on all equipment rentals, deliveries, and invoicing to ensure customer satisfaction. * Analyze current and future markets and equipment needs for customer base. * Maintain current knowledge on all products and services for sale and rent by Peterson Power Rentals. * Using MS Office and CRM software, prepare customer correspondence and enter customer information into database. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is required, college degree in business/marketing is highly desirable; and minimum of five (5) years sales and rental experience of generator/temperature control or compressed air required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ideal candidates will be familiar with generators, chillers, commercial building construction, refineries, electrical contractors, construction project management, and marketing. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. * Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure. * Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel) and database applications to maintain customer information Peterson Power Systems is committed to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
