BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
To supervise all parts warehouse employees and operations to include picking, packing, receiving, put away, bin maintenance and inventory control (daily cycle counts) efficiently, effectively and safely.Secondly, while performing these functions, to ensure a high level of customer service/ dealer satisfaction, warehouse productivity, operating efficiency, quality assurance and cost containment is obtained.These objectives are achieved in part by the exploration, development and implementation of new and improved concepts, processes and practices in all areas of the warehouse.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures and guidelines:
Ensure daily warehouse assignments, work activities and special projects are carried out by warehouse personnel in a timely and accurate manner to achieve performance results and warehouse business objectives.
Motivates, coaches, counsels, mentors and trains warehouse staff, measures performance and interprets data to ensure all performance standards are achieved and maintained.
Oversee daily activities to include, but not limited to receiving, packaging, put away, picking, consolidation, shipping, replenishment, inventory control, returns processing and all other warehouse related activities.
4.Ensures all inventory cycle count problems and discrepancies are rechecked and resolved.
5.Orders and approves warehouse supplies, labels, tape, pallets.
6.Resolves bin maintenance questions: Finds space in an overcrowded warehouse for fast moving parts.
7.Works with outside vendors to maintain and service equipment used in parts warehouse operation, such as:forklifts, chasers, scanner guns, printers and tape machines.
Works with the Parts Manager and other Supervisor(s) to ensure warehouse operates efficiently and safely: demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and the willingness to challenge existing norms and discover innovative ideas that may result in incremental or dramatic process change.
Handles International shipments to Japan, Europe and England.
Handles performance management responsibilities to include introductory reviews, performance memorandums, PIPs and annual performance evaluations; provides timely and specific constructive feedback to subordinates as appropriate.
Supports and enforces safety policies, company and operational procedures and practices.
Share ideas and technology with colleagues and internal groups.
Handles administrative tasks such as approval of time off requests, managing time cards, scheduling overtime and holidays worked, data analysis and reporting.
Other duties as assigned.
Such as, assistance with warehouse management system implementation; bin location clean-up and space organization; mentor summer intern.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING:
High School, some college preferred.
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND:
Thorough knowledge and understanding of logistics and warehousing procedures including, but not limited to receiving, packaging, put away, replenishment, inventory control processes, picking, shipping, returns processing, business applications, barcode systems, material handling equipment, hazardous materials handling, labor and productivity management.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a thorough, working knowledge of forklift, reach truck, order selector and other power equipment.
Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to supervise, influence, motivate and develop subordinates to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse.Must be able to effectively deal with difficult employees while remaining tactful in challenging situations.
Technical knowledge of tractors and Implements is helpful.
SAP computer experience is a must.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Access).
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
EQUIPMENT OPERATION (% of time, description, nature of service):
Nature of Service
Stock picker and some fork lift.
I supervise the daily inspection and monthly (battery service) for all parts stock pickers and fork lift.
Also, office equipment including computer, copier, fax, phone, printer
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to tolerate temperature shifts inherent to a distribution center environment that may range from below 30 degrees to above 100 degrees.
Requires standing and walking for long periods of time or sitting and working on computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to cope in a challenging, fast-paced environment is required.
BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS: Supervisor
Supervisors must ensure that employees have been trained properly, re-trained, as necessary.This position provides clear direction and instruction and listens to obtain clarification of the work changes by Managers or Directors. Supervisors manage daily interaction with employees within the department by walking around the work area, ensuring that employees are on time and that schedules are met
Work is reviewed work, assignments given, follow-up applied and the use a computer, fax machine, telephone and Company systems are followed to complete tasks and assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for interviewing, making hiring recommendations - orient and train new employees as well as helping existing staff with work related problems.
Model dependability and punctuality for staff by maintaining regular and consistent attendance.
Provides ongoing training of staff to update skills or change work processes -schedules regular meetings to ensure good communications within the work group.
Manages time, attendance and schedules to ensure that the work group is fully functioning on a daily basis and that work in the Section/Department is accurate and is completed on time - approves overtime assignments consistent with Company policy and the law to insure that eligible employees are properly paid for work performed.
Motivates subordinates by coaching and counseling; manages stressful situationsin the workplace with tact and diplomacy; and exhibits patience and tact in dealing with complaints and requests for information from employees - keeps management informed of work related personnel issues.
Monitors individual performance and provides timely feed back to employees.
Has a good knowledge of Department/Division processes and ensures that unauthorized deviations are corrected immediately and adapts quickly to changes within the Department/Division/Company.
Has a good knowledge of Company policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and applies them fairly and equitably.
Responds quickly and positively to questions and concerns from employees or management.
Sets a good, positive example to subordinates in the workplace.
Works closely with Manager and/or Director to provide timely feedback as necessary regarding employee performance, whether positive or a need for counseling.
Provides input to Manager regarding annual performance evaluations and participates in any employee relations case investigations as complaints may be made or circumstances warrant.
Recognizes when it is necessary to ask for assistance with or to refer employee-related issues to Manager/Director/Human Resources.
Additions and changes in duties and responsibilities may be necessary from time to time for the benefit of the Department/Division/Company.
