The Parts Manager oversees the parts department and employees and returns a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the parts department based on Retail, Wholesale, and Customer-Pay (Repair Order) sales.
Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the do-it-yourself public.
Establish pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum turnover.
Monitor and adjust Days' Supply for critical and fast-moving parts' categories and numbers.
Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence
Maintain Inventory Aging guidelines
Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing
Manage the parts inventory and track expenses
Work with the service manager and shop foreman to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
Continue to maintain Asbury's value, quality, and integrity
Strong customer service skills are a must
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills required
Experience with CDK or Reynolds is a plus
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as an Automotive Parts Employee
Previous Automotive Parts Management experience required
Must be able to manage in a fast-paced work environment
Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
Must be able to pass pre-employment screens (background & drug test)
