(EHRO) East Hartford Repair Operations - has openings for a Parts Inspector on 2nd shift. In this position you will perform visual and dimensional inspection to verify the proper assembly and disassembly of new and overhaul gas turbine engines and components. Follow procedures to determine extent and nature of repairs needed to restore parts and accessories to required specifications. Perform related inspection and process paperwork, in associated area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, Engine Manuals and other pertinent instruction and/or Approved Technical Data to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools and gages and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.

  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments where work instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.

  • Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.

  • Follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.

  • Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.

  • Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives to meet business objectives.

  • Must maintain Inspection stamp.

  • Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

  • Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime

  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.

BASIC QUAILFIICATIONS:

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma

  • Must be a United States citizen due to government contracts.

  • 1.5 + years related experience

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

PREFERRED QUAILIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of inspection experience.

  • Experience with precision measuring equipment.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Are you ready to go beyond? (EHRO) East Hartford Repair Operations - has an opening for a Bend Repair Machinist on 2nd shift. In this position you will perform complicated bench repair, blend restoration, and limited machining operations on engine parts and tools to meet applicable part print and repair specifications. Select methods for holding parts assemblies, tryout, machining hand, and blend bench repair tasks to correct deteriorated conditions and prepare and finish parts to quality requirements. Make tool and tooling details and re-operate spec all adapters to accomplish assembly and metal cutting operations, blending aerospace metal, and major rotating parts will be the focus of this position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Under direction of leader/supervisor, carryout fabrication, repair, and restoration. * Projects for engine parts and related tooling and process development. * Plan and layout work requirements, obtain materials, and setup operation sequences and follow select methods for engine part repair and tooling alterations using available equipment. And recommend solutions to problems encountered while carrying out the work required. * Perform complicated bench repair operations to restore parts where dimensional requirements must be maintained to close tolerances using a variety of fixed and variable precision measuring instruments. * Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work as necessary. * Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions such as operator's check lists for upkeep and to assure equipment operates properly. * Assist others responsible for new process tryout, and other specialized assignments within the scope and skill level of this job description. * Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor. * Maintain logs and records as requested to communicate findings and prepare requests for approvals. * May be required to train for obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and certifications within assigned area. * May be assigned to carry out tasks, no specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
