General Summary
The Engine Expediter monitors, tracks and records all parts and equipment for department projects in a safe and organized environment. In addition, this position orders, maintains, stores and inventories general parts for the department; generates various reports for parts and inventory; researches and resolves parts issues; and works closely with the Material Services team and outside vendors to track parts' status.
Essential Job Functions
Monitors, tracks and follows-up on parts that are needed for in-process and future Engine shop work orders to ensure necessary parts are received when needed. Communicates with team leaders and technicians to determine parts on order for upcoming jobs. Maintains accurate inventory list of received and pending parts. Creates daily "hot" list and works with the Material Services team to expedite parts and deliveries.
Tags all rejected parts removed by Engine shop team members and validates the replacement parts. Informs appropriate team members of any discrepancies.
Tracks Engine department parts usage, maintains engine shop parts inventory and recommends new items for stock. Reviews past projects to determine miscellaneous parts needed to complete Engine department projects and proceeds with ordering and stocking these parts with the other work order items to meet peak demands. Establishes ordering and control procedures to expedite the ordering and receiving processes for the Engine department.
Coordinates with team leaders, project managers and other Engine team members to close open purchase orders to help expedite the billing process at the end of the job. Communicates and coordinates with Return Goods Administrator concerning parts accounting, control and return of parts, cores and materials for proper credit.
Resolves parts issues by communicating with the team leaders, the Material Services team, internal and external customers, and vendors to resolve parts issues.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements
Licenses/Certificates: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; reads small print; repetitive motion; tolerates walking, bending and sitting

Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent required
One year aircraft maintenance experience preferred or a minimum two years parts or aviation-related experience required
General computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Software (i.e. Windows, Excel, Word, etc.)
