Parts Counter Representative - Midland, TX

We are seeking candidates with inside/counter sales experience in an automotive, industrial and/or mechanical parts environment. This is a full time, hourly position. Some overtime and weekend shifts may be expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist internal customers with parts sales and inquiries

  • Receive and process internal customer orders

  • Offer recommendations and details regarding available products

  • Stocking, Ordering and Maintaining proper inventory levels

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent Communication Skills both Verbal and Written

  • A Positive, Friendly, Customer Service Attitude

  • Preference will be given to those candidates with 2 or more years of parts experience

Accountable for the accurate processing of material and service orders while providing best in class customer service and attention to detail. Coordinates activities of the supply chain organization pertaining to material and services to obtain optimum efficiency and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through co-workers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Receives and processes internal and external customer requests by phone, walk-ins and electronically for parts, materials, supplies and services * Compiles and maintains information and records required to prepare purchase orders, including material records, prices, inventory and delivery records * Edits and updates purchase requests with correct information * Consults catalogs and other references to obtain prices, part numbers and specifications * Reviews intercompany inventories to fulfill orders internally where possible * Performs Supply Chain related clerical duties * Contacts vendors and suppliers for quotations, and provides follow up on outstanding purchase orders to ensure delivery date is obtainable * Make substitution recommendations where savings in cost or better delivery can be obtained * Follow up with customers on pricing, availability and delivery * Provide high quality customer service * Enter/track internal requisitions for parts transfers * Prepares AMS parts sales orders as needed * Applies standard formulas to calculate extensions and discount applications * Knows minimum/maximum levels/Reorder points (ROP) of inventory * Resolves pricing discrepancies * Generates return to vendor if delivery is incorrect or returned by customer * Actively participates in CCLP Safety Program Competencies: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: * Customer Service - Manages customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments and communicates exceptions * Effective Communication Skills – High degree of effective interpersonal communication required both verbally and in written form.
