Primary Function

Maintain adequate and organized inventory of truck, trailer, dolly and

forklift parts used by technicians for equipment repairs and preventative maintenance

services. Maintain current inventory by returning parts for credit and utilize national account

Big G Express approved vendors for stock parts.

Description

• Orders and processes purchase orders for parts required by service technicians,

vendors, and shop managers.

• Determines and maintains optimal inventory levels of uniforms, miscellaneous shop

items.

• Maintains and updates parts, shop equipment, lubrication/material lists and

purchasing information.

• Communicate with vendors to procure parts by phone, fax and email.

• Communicate with vendors on direct warranty parts by phone, fax and email.

• Monitor location for proper min/max stocking levels and lead-time.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Skills

• Knowledge of the transportation industry preferred.

• Ability to grasp new concepts quickly.

• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Strong organization skills and the ability to establish priorities.

• Ability to identify issues and solve routine problems.

• Good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately

document and report.

• Microsoft Excel and Word experience.

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Education Required

• High School diploma or GED
