This position is based in Long Island City, NY under close direction of the District Manager. The selected candidate will allocate and distribute parts and materials for service repairs and customer orders, handle parts orders, perform other assigned Parts Department functions, including inventory control of parts and materials in stock and on order. There will be frequent contact with Branch employees and constant contact with customers and other outside personnel, requiring more than ordinary courtesy and tact to establish and maintain good customer relations. You will have occasional work with confidential data where the effect of any disclosure may have an impact on the business.

General Duties:

  • Order parts for technicians and OTC customers

  • Identifying/researching parts

  • Shipping and receiving

  • Assisting walk in customers

  • Assisting technicians

  • Cycle counts inventories

  • Maintain inventory control system, including updating computer as required, and assist with audits conducted by company auditors. Requisition parts from Troy, including following up on purchase orders and correspondence involving back orders. Regularly update files.

  • Assist in the training and cross training of other individuals in the office.

  • Receive parts from Troy, including verifying with packing slips, matching parts invoices with purchase orders and packing slips. Process Return Apparatus Tags (RAT) involving warranty claims and verify Warranty and Maintenance automatic scale/wrapper credits.

  • Assist with replenishment of truck inventories and handle parts transfers to other Hobart Branches. Follow up on all pending credits and handle over-the-counter parts sales to walk-in customers.

  • Assist various job functions involved in tracking consignment as well as stocking and pulling parts and processing parts mail orders from customers.

  • Assist in preparing reports on order status, parts & material shortages as necessary. Keep abreast of new products and related parts required for various modifications and keep bulletins updated.

  • Handle telephone orders from customers for parts, including writing up orders, and quoting prices, or availability of parts, upon request.

  • Write up credits for returned merchandise and handle telephone requests from technicians.

  • Handle dispatching duties and shipping and receiving of products as assigned. Understand and perform all parts related activities required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accredited High School diploma, Business or trade school or GED

  • 0-2 years Parts or clerical experience which includes any or all of the following: ordering, shipping, any receiving, parts sales and inventory control.

  • Handle competing/multiple priorities

  • Computer Skills:
    Microsoft Office products excel, Word, Outlook

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to sit for prolonged periods of time

  • Extensive periods of time on phone

  • Lifting 50-75 lbs with or without assistance

  • Climbing up to 8 ft with ladder

  • Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling

  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet conditions

  • OT as required

VIEW JOBS 1/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-15T00:00 <p>The Riis Academy Program Coordinator works collaboratively with the Advantage Program Director to develop and implement safe, structured, and engaging programming at one of our 5 school-based Riis Academy sites. The Program Coordinator is mainly responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the program, anticipating participant and staff needs, maintaining data collection, and supervising pick-up, transition, and dismissal periods. In addition, part of the Program Coordinator’s responsibility is to assist the Program Director in ensuring that the program’s schedule and enrichment components, staff behavior, training, and site files, and overall program quality is in alignment with Riis Settlement’s mission and strategic plan, as well as falls in line with oversight agencies’ compliance requirements and contractual obligations to our funders. The Program Coordinator will also engage in recruitment of participants, building positive relationships with families and partners, facilitation of staff development, participation in Riis initiatives, and other administrative duties necessary to the organization and operation of the program. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment, be creative with solutions, collaborate with a diverse team, and have a fun, good-humored, positive outlook.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in outreach and recruitment of 120 school – age youth (ages 5-12);</li> <li>Ensure that participants maintain a 80% rate of participation in all program activities;</li> <li>Communicate with school principal, assistant principle, and other school personal daily; </li> <li>Develop retention strategies for youth in coordination with the Advantage Program;</li> <li>Ensure that age-appropriate activities are carefully planned and implemented by staff and that the lessons/components being included are meeting the requirements of the contractual work plan;</li> <li>At all times, monitor the safety, structure, and learning opportunities within the program day; </li> <li>Assist line staff with behavior management/conflict resolution techniques within the program;</li> <li>Assist in the development and implementation of activities that support academic needs of participants that are research-supported, and reinforce (not repeat) school-day instruction, as well as encourage enrichment lessons that incorporate the interests and strengths of participants;</li> <li>Complete monthly staff/activity observations with the Program Director</li> <li>In the event of staff absence, assist in program areas as needed, including ratio maintenance and activity facilitation;</li> <li>Build positive relationships with program participants, their families, and host school staff;</li> <li>Engage parents and other adult members of the community in meaningful activities/ meetings/ supportive services;</li> <li>Assist with the planning, organization, and oversight/facilitation of program events;</li> <li>Responsible for data maintenance which includes managing daily attendance records, participant demographic information, school food rosters, printing attendance sheets/sign out sheets</li> <li>Assist in administrative duties for the After-school program (record keeping/filing/updating lists and forms, etc);</li> <li>Ensure the respectful treatment of school and program property – ensuring spaces used by the program remain clean, organized, and well-maintained;</li> <li>Attend training and meetings as required by Program Director, funder, oversight agencies, and Riis Settlement;</li> <li>Participate in Riis Settlement initiatives by volunteering for committees, organization-wide events, and other opportunities that fulfill the mission and values of Riis Settlement.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>BA in Youth Services/Education/Psychology or other child care related field <strong>OR</strong> 2-3 years of experience in the field of youth development</li> <li>Supervisory experience preferred</li> <li>Experience in a non-profit setting</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills</li> <li>Detail-oriented and strong organizational and follow up skills</li> <li>Punctual, self-motivated, and results driven</li> <li>Ability to take initiative</li> <li>Experience and/or willingness to work with diverse ethnic populations</li> <li>Ability to effectively engage diverse ethnic populations and outreach in local communities</li> <li>Bilingual preferred but not required</li> </ul> Jacob A.
