Main Job Purpose:

The Parts Coordinator is responsible for managing the operation of the plant parts storeroom to achieve the customer service goals of the plant and the department. This is accomplished by eliminating downtime and delay caused due to the availability of parts.

The position is responsible for maintaining inventory levels set through min/max levels in the CMMS (SAP) which are affected by planned work assigned by the Maintenance Planner. The Parts Coordinator will work with all team members, specifically Mechanics, to order parts and support parts for projects. The position will be responsible for delivering results against the plant's maintenance plan.

Knowledge and understanding of national Safety and Environmental legislation and company policy, systems, and practice relevant to Sourcing Unit and the legal responsibility placed upon individuals. Must actively contribute to the safe working environment, to include full engagement in the Behaviour Based Safety Program.

Environment. Reduce costs due to waste and minimise impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials. Must actively contribute to an eco-efficient environment.

Leadership. Encourage the development of a highly effective team through the establishment of a positive team climate supported by authentic leadership and clear communication. Be pro-active and strive to develop the best practices and action plans to deal with work demands.

Facilitation and Coaching. An ability to facilitate and coach team members to support team performance and increase knowledge of policies, procedures and ways of working.

Decision Making. An ability to make decisions leveraging experience and knowledge of internal policies and practices to effectively and efficiently administer key programs.

Problem Solving. An ability to identify, prioritise and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.

Quality. Knowledge of product quality and food safety procedures.

Management. Keen sense of prioritisation and ability to influence change. Resolve conflicts where identified.

Administration. Timely and accurate administration of all Parts Room activities.

Business Awareness. Understand the business needs for change and innovation.

Operational Responsibilities:

Effective purchasing, receiving, and stocking of repair parts and miscellaneous operating supplies to ensure the plant meets its' operating plan.

Manage the plant's spare parts inventory to ensure parts are available when needed. This is accomplished through achieving a critical balance between maintaining a low working capital and avoiding unplanned downtime.

Manage the operation of the storeroom to ensure that the Production and Scheduling departments get satisfactory service from the Maintenance Department on a timely basis.

Work with Maintenance Planner to schedule parts ordering and delivery, coordinated with scheduled work. This includes and is not limited to prioritizing work based on unplanned downtime.

Control costs through the use of effective planning, re-ordering and alternate vendors and part

Manage and improve the CMMS system by creation of parts and accurate MRP data. Updates classification and metadata for all parts to ensure accuracy.

Maintain the integrity of the inventory management database through the appropriate execution of above listed responsibilities.

Compliance with all company and plant rules.

Participate in plant Safety, Health & Environment initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education. High school diploma or equivalent.

1 to 2 years of Planning/Inventory management experience.

Experience Required:

ESSENTIAL:

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical components and parts preferred.

Must have experience in the operation of a computerized inventory management system (CMMS), specifically site versions.

Familiarity with proper Maintenance and Machine Shop procedures and techniques

Organizational skills are strongly required to manage the load of parts transactions and work orders. The ability to identify right parts and make complicated calculations. Must lead by example in managing store room.

Ability to lift 50 lbs and in excess of 50 lbs with the aid of lifting assistance.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence others. Ability to communicate effectively with mechanical staff in order to facilitate the execution of work orders and projects.

Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to build collaborative relationships and networks with multiple and diverse stakeholders, internal and external partners.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Ability to drive change and innovation by gathering knowledge and resources to ensure tasks are completed within timelines to a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Ability to understand and influence teams to adapt to new ways of working
