Position Overview

The Parts Retail Associate position has the opportunity to interact with hundreds of customers to assist them in purchasing automotive parts. The goal is to create an exceptional buying experience to build customer loyalty to AutoNation.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

  • Promptly meet and assist both the technician and the retail guest in a friendly and courteous manner.

  • Obtain the correct parts and accessories for both the technician and the retail guest in a timely manner.

  • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and transfer the information to the proper document and computer system.

  • Answer telephone calls promptly, courteously, and make every effort to satisfy the caller's inquiry.

  • Stock incoming inventory in the correct location.

  • Maintain the parts department in clean and orderly manner.

  • Provide customers with needed information and offer additional sales opportunities.

  • Create and maintain merchandising display to promote product sales.

  • Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Proven ability to provide an exceptional customer experience

  • One year of experience in an automotive parts department.

  • One year of sales experience

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

  • Organization and follow-up skills

As the shipping and receiving person you must have good record-keeping skills and an attention to detail. Forklift certification is a plus. Personnel will be in a fast paced demanding environment requiring the ability to perform multiple tasks at once. Must be an organized person with competent computer skills, be able to take direction, and provide a high level of customer service.</p><p>Essential Job Functions:</p><ul><li><p>Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near warehouse, plant site, or worksite.</p></li><li><p>Examines goods shipped and verifies completeness of shipments against bill of lading, invoices, and other records.</p></li><li><p>Route incoming shipments/goods to respective departments.</p></li><li><p>Counts and compares quantity and identification numbers of units against order.</p></li><li><p>Reads work order or follows oral instructions.</p></li><li><p>Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.</p></li><li><p>Prepares products for shipment.</p></li><li><p>Prepares identifying information/ shipping instructions on containers.</p></li><li><p>Receives and ships stock orders</p></li><li><p>Operate all vehicles in a professional and courteous manner and always with the highest degree of safety.</p></li><li><p>Completes daily vehicle safety checks per Company policy and constantly operates the vehicle within safety guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Immediately reports any safety concerns or Company Policy violations to their immediate supervisor.</p></li><li><p>Ensures all loads are secure to prevent accidents and/or damage.</p></li><li><p>Ensures all paperwork is completed as required which may include customer signatures.</p></li><li><p>Must maintain professional attitude, conduct and appearance.</p></li><li><p>Works with all departments to meet a high level of customer satisfaction.</p></li><li><p>Practice inter-personal skills to maintain a positive relationship with co-workers.</p></li><li><p>Assists other company personnel in keeping all work area's clean and safe.</p></li><li><p>Must possess good verbal communication skills</p></li><li><p>Provides assistance to resolve customer issues</p></li><li><p>All other duties as assigned</p></li></ul><p>Education and/or Experience:</p><ul><li><p>High school diploma</p></li><li><p>3+ years' experience in warehouse preferred or equivalent</p></li><li><p>Willing to train the right candidate</p></li><li><p>Bilingual English/Spanish a plus</p></li><li><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Internet Explorer and general laptop or desktop computer use.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of inventory control software preferred</p></li><li><p>This position requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, climbing, moving and reaching overhead and working overhead.</p></li><li><p>Ability to occasionally lift up to 60 pounds and work inside and outdoors in various climate and temperatures.</p></li><li><p>Ability to operate a forklift safely.</p></li><li><p>This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, hazardous materials, fumes, airborne particles and moderate noise levels.
