Drive review, analysis and insight, as part of a mid-size team that manages the review and challenge process for the US CCAR stress test results

  • Review, challenge and analyze the submitted stress test results for the US FRB, OCC and PRA stress test submission and understand the key drivers of the results including for example the linkage to Risk identification, the scenario trends, model drivers, key assumptions, sensitivities and limitations of results

  • Create materials on stress testing methodology and results suitable for presentation to senior management and board level, clearly laying out and explaining the results at both a high level for senior executive presentation and also at a detailed level to satisfy regulatory expectations.

  • Write business commentary on forecasts which will support the CCAR submission to the regulators.

  • Build and maintain relationships with various work streams, and leverage the relationship to understand drivers and rationale for the forecasts.

  • Support running a rigorous Review and Challenge process for CCAR, DFAST and other stress tests as required.

  • Conduct analysis to provide financial and business insights based on stress test results.

  • Maintain a detailed understanding and ongoing review of all U.S. and global regulatory rules and ability to assess their impact for HNAH and its subsidiaries for the review and challenge process.

  • Key contact and liaison role for BRCM and Internal Audit reviews of the HNAH review and challenge process.

  • Key contact and liaison role for HNAH central stress testing team support of the PRA stress tests.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Work as part of the wider CCAR/PRA stress testing team and be a key member of the review and challenge team.

  • Required to work and liaise closely with the wider Finance function, Risk, the Global businesses and other global functions.

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with HNAH and Group policies.

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy and maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring.

  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with HNAH and Group policies.

  • To implement the Group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.

  • Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.

Major Challenges

  • To actively participate and deliver on the CCAR requirements and work in close coordination with other Finance and Risk functions.

  • To ensure production and maintenance of high quality technical, procedural and project documentation.

  • To understand the impact and requirements of the evolving and complex regulatory requirements with respect to CCAR and PRA stress testing.

Role Context

  • This position may be found in one of the following areas: Other global regions central stress testing teams.

Management of Risk

  • Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

Observation of Internal Controls

Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

  • Experience in finance or risk in a FP&A type function or prior stress testing related role

  • Proven ability to communicate complex ideas both in written and verbally in written format.

  • Strong ability to collaborate and partner with other teams in different parts of the organization

  • Ensuring production and maintenance of high quality presentations and documents

  • Ability to work quickly under pressure and deliver under tight deadlines
