As a Partner Sales Engineer, you will educate Appian partners on the value of our platform in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate. You must be able to engage and articulate product positioning to both business and technical users, and will play a critical role in partner enablement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Partner Directors to evangelize the Appian Platform to our partner ecosystem

  • Assist in the production of RFPs and other proposals to partners

  • Propose technical and creative business solutions in support of sales activities

  • Design and deliver high-quality technical Proof of Concepts for partners and prospective customers

  • Present technical and business aspects of Appian to a C-Level audience

  • Represent Appian's product to prospects at field events such as conferences, summits, seminars, etc

  • Assist with the radiation strategy within the partner ecosystem by building relationships

  • Work with colleagues across the organization to receive the support needed to accomplish the technical goals

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science

  • 5+ years as a successful Pre-Sales Engineer OR 5+ years in a Professional Services/Consulting role that is client facing and involves sales scenarios

  • Able to thrive in a unique culture where thinking outside of the box is required daily and creative input is necessary to solve business problems

  • Technical depth to respond to all functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

  • Proven success conveying customer requirements to Product Management teams

  • Familiarity with Business Process Management, Case Management, or Low Code Development products is a plus

  • Recent experience programming in one or more of the following: Java (J2EE, JNDI, JDBC, JMS, Web Services), HTML, XML, XSL, JavaScript, SQL

  • Experience in production environments (application servers, web servers, databases)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer interaction, requirements analysis, presentations, and system design

  • Willing to travel 50% to partner and customer locations throughout the assigned region in Central and South Americas

As a Partner Engineer Manager for GSIs, your goal will be to help build a robust and self-sufficient GSI partner ecosystem capable of driving a significant portion of Google Cloud's business through an indirect channel. As educational institutions, government agencies, and other businesses increasingly adopt public and hybrid cloud computing, more than ever they need partners to help enterprises understand and quantify the business and technical benefits. These enterprises also depend on partners to understand the cost and risk of moving to cloud, helping them develop governance models to mitigate for the unexpected. As a Partner Engineering manager, you possess expert communication, collaboration, and business skills enabling them to develop trusted relationships with key decision-makers at partners. These relationships will be leveraged to build and drive business plans that expand the reach of Google Cloud. From startups building their first app to billion-user consumer companies crunching big data, the Google Cloud Platform gives developers and businesses the most advanced data and analytics solution on the market, along with Google's secure, high performance infrastructure. Minimum qualifications: * 10 years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer in a cloud computing environment, or equivalent experience in a partner facing role (working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team). * Experience in people management. * Experience working with GSIs. * Ability to travel twice per month as required. Preferred qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. * Experience with web/internet related technologies, architecture across SaaS, PaaS and IaaS and cloud productivity suites. Understanding of solution architecture within web/mobile environments. * Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space. * Knowledge and understanding of the technology and cloud computing market with a passion for Google Cloud products. * Ability to inspire and grow teams to their full potential in a channels sales environment. * Ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences, engaging C-Level in business and technology transformation. * Hire, coach and drive a high performance team to enable channel partners to deliver against goals. * Lead internal planning efforts that prioritize the alignment of people and resources toward qualified activities and toward key go-to-market partners. * Collaborate with Google Cloud GSI partner development managers to build business plans with partners that define how they will grow their business with Google. * Work with senior decision-makers at key GSI partners to increase the adoption of Google Cloud services by investing in building out their Google Cloud capability and readiness through Centers of Excellence. * Engage in the largest and most strategic GSI-led agreements from solutions engineering and thought leadership perspectives.
