Job Role and Responsibilities
The Compliance Sr. Director will be responsible for designing and implementing our Partner Compliance Governance structure across headquarters and field stakeholders.
The Partner Compliance Lead will be responsible for creating, maintaining and monitoring the partner/channel compliance strategy to drive partner sales and customer activation in a compliant way. This individual will analyze existing compliance data, partner information, and corporate policies to determine what policies to create, update or influence. This individual will adjust existing policies to increase efficacy and understanding. In addition, this individual will be tasked with presenting these policies to senior executive level executives at VMware and other organizations that have a partnering relationship with VMware.
This leader will also have the opportunity to define what the future state of their organization should be and staff accordingly.
This is a position of high impact and visibility. The ideal candidate is a talented leader with strong industry expertise in formulating and communicating partner compliance strategy and initiatives. The role requires a balance between strategic thinking and ability to deliver concrete results. The role also requires experience working with sales, marketing, a deep understanding of the field and partner organizations, confirmed leadership track record, and outstanding cross-group collaboration.
The successful Partner Compliance Lead for partner acceleration and customer activation content will meet/exceed the following:
Develop, manage and maintain the Partner Compliance governance structure with the mission of ensuring acceleration of partner sales, offering a superior user experience for employees and lines of business while maintaining an appropriate compliance posture and supporting the regulatory and compliance requirements of the company.
Drive continuous improvement of policies, procedures and technology (including automation) related to Compliance to enable risk reduction, business enablement and operational efficiencies
Establish trusted relationships with business leaders across the company to support business unit goals and champion thought leadership in compliance practices as it relates to partners
Support Sales and support activities by providing Compliance expertise to business units, partner teams, and assisting with customers and partners in meetings as needed
Manage operational components of the compliance process as required
Create and maintain the strategic plan and roadmap for partner Compliance as part of the broader Compliance landscape for VMware
Contribute to policy and standards development in conjunction with VMware legal, finance and audit
Drive Compliance program reporting for the partner sales acceleration team at all levels including Executive level readouts
Interact with industry experts and stay abreast of best practices in the partner or channel compliance space to maintain technical expertise and apply leading practices to VMware business challenges
Work effectively as part of a geographically distributed team globally
Drive compliance awareness through fresh communication strategies. Partner with HR, Marketing, Communications and others to craft custom communications through innovative approaches
Advance VMware's existing compliance risk assessment model. Collaborate with global team members and business partners to design a pragmatic approach to deploy and run
Total of 12-15 years in technology with at least 10 years of experience in developing and evolving compliance policies for a partner ecosystem
Solid reputation as a thought leader and solid communicator of business value
Subject matter expertise in sales cycles, marketing functions, third-party risk, or procure to pay processes will come in handy
Familiarity with emerging markets and their compliance risk profile.
Proven track record of leading activities related to establishing and growing a business
