The Role
Andreessen Horowitz is looking for a Senior Social Media Manager, to be part of its Social Media Team, as part of Central Marketing. The Senior Social Media Manager will collaborate to form the long-term strategy and daily social media presence for a16z's primary social media accounts.
The Senior Social Media Manager will research and understand a16z's audience (both existing and potential) and will strategize the best ways to present a16z content on platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube. They will make decisions about which platforms and social-media posts are the right fit for a16z, and the ones that are not.
This role is responsible for generating creative ideas that will appear on all of a16z's social media platforms. They will work cross-functionally, with the marketing and editorial leads across all verticals, a16z's Design team and others, in order to bring these ideas to life.
The ideal candidate for this role is well-versed in best practices for all social media platforms, a strong writer and editor, and has an eye for imagery and video that will elevate a16z's presence on social media. They build strong relationships, with an ability to understand internal stakeholders' needs and pivot as those needs change. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter, who can work autonomously. They will present new and fresh ideas, for everything from specific content or posts appropriate for a16z, to new tools and ways of working smarter.

Own writing and editing content for all social media platforms
Be accountable for final edits on all copy and multimedia assets
Be responsible for generating ideas for multimedia assets, including graphics and video, for use on all social media platforms, and execute on those ideas
Be responsible for growing a16z's audience, by developing and executing on creative, platform- and brand- appropriate ideas
Form strategy for each platform, by experimenting on social media and evaluating success of those experiments
Be accountable for standards of excellence in projects that have the highest visibility for the a16z brand
Build strong partnerships with marketing and editorial leaders, helping them achieve their business objectives through social media outreach and engagement
Communicate across teams to assure delivery of top-quality assets, and success in publishing them in an organized and prompt manner
Bring creativity along with a can-do, high output spirit to your work and to the rest of the team
Prioritize a client focus: proactively strategize about how to creatively use social media to serve clients' needs and swiftly respond to tasks/requests with a high level of quality
Work quickly and efficiently, to support daily publishing needs
Perform at your best in an extremely fast-paced and high stakes environment
Pay attention to detail, remain highly organized and ensure 100% accuracy and excellence in all social media posts and assets
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience successfully managing social media for a publication(s) or brand(s)
Proven ability to interact with, and deliver successful campaigns for, stakeholders
Ability to meet deadlines and post to social media accounts in real time, with little need for oversight
An executive presence: you can be present and thoughtful in review meetings, have the agility to pivot and adapt execution as the strategy evolves, and can take direction/critiques well
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, but we are open to applicants based in New York City, NY or Santa Monica, CA.
The anticipated salary range for this role is between $213,000-$249,000, actual starting pay may vary based on a range of factors which can include experience, skills, and scope.
This role is eligible to participate in the a16z carry program and various discretionary bonus programs as well as benefit and perquisite plans including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401K plan, vacation, and sick leave.
