POSITION SUMMARY

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is an innovative leading-edge college dedicated to student success. A trainer's primary purpose is to design instruction and assessment in an engaging environment to foster learner success. A trainer continually improves the overall quality in the delivery of learning to support the achievement of college outcomes and priorities utilizing evidence to support decision-making. Trainer demand will be dictated by customer and contract need.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

NWTC is seeking an experienced subject matter expert to deliver established and customized training to meet the needs of our corporate customers. Responsibilities include:

• Provide welding training which is customized to meet the needs of a manufacturing organization in a flexible work-based environment on/or off campus.

• Manage the instructional process and associated curriculum review and development, and student advising within the area of training.

• Train on courses in, Blueprint Reading, Welding (Cutting, Visual Inspection, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW), Metal Fabrication, and related Math.

• Respond to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

• Assignments for this position are specifically located in the Sturgeon Bay area unless customer needs require training at other locations.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Two years successful direct occupational experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience required. Must pass Practical Welding Testing.

Recognized Welding Certifications preferred, ie; Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Educator (CWE)

Other Requirements

• Previous teaching experience with adult learners is desired.

• Ability to assist students with a variety of technical course material in an open, self-directed, trainer assisted manufacturing technology environment.

• Knowledge of weld safety, codes, blueprints, various metals and alloys.

• Manage classroom and shop/lab ensuring a productive and safe learning environment.

• Develop and deliver customized welding training to meet a company's goal.

• Identify and request equipment and supplies needed for the class.

• Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends when requested.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
