Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Reports to: Ultrasound Manager
Status: Non- Exempt
Pay: To determine our range, we consider as many of the following data points as are available to us: external market salary survey data, internal data in terms of comparable roles and our budget for the position. What we have posted is our good faith estimate of what we expect to pay: $27-$39 an hour.
Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist works as a member of Ultrasound team, reporting to the Ultrasound Manager. This role provides ultrasound based imaging to patients and supports the patient experience throughout their time at GLMI. Effective communication between departments and exemplary patient care must be maintained. This role performs a variety of tasks beyond ultrasound imaging including; patient calls, documentation in charts, and assisting with both patient and other co-worker needs. There are no call requirements or weekend shifts for this position!

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Perform all duties of an ultrasound technologist including:
Operating ultrasound equipment from various manufacturers.
This includes the selection of correct technical factors tailored to each patient and exam.
Assisting the radiologist with semi invasive ultrasound procedures.
Assist in patient positioning for optimum image quality.
Communicates with patients regarding medical history, symptoms and explanation of procedures with associated documentation.
Reviews previous imaging and tailors exam accordingly.
Provides clear and thorough explanation of procedures to patients.
Verifies accuracy of orders prior to examining the patient.
Enter data in Radiology Information System, assuring accuracy and completeness.
Present technical findings in written and/or oral form to Radiologist.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area, provided quality control processes when necessary, and ensure the safety of patients in the department.
Attend to the medical needs of the patient at all times, maintaining patient modesty.
Clean the transducers used after each exam, including the high level disinfection process mandatory with endovaginal probe. In addition, the technologist will monitor and change the disinfectant solution monthly.
Restock supplies and maintain a list of things to be ordered.
Assist PSR team and/or administrative staff when necessary.
When available, help fellow technologists (i.e. change patients)
Operates standard imaging equipment including, but not limited to:
Ultrasound machine
PACS/RIS computer
Other duties as needed.
Overtime may be required, as needed
Necessary Skills:
Ability to perform each duty as listed above
Strong computer skills including use of information systems and Google based programs
Problem solving skills
Strong oral communication skills including both phone and in person
Strong customer service skills and diplomacy
Experience in radiology or medical terminology preferred

Physical and Mental Requirements:
May be asked to lift up to 20 pounds
Standing, walking, sitting, keyboard use for long periods of time
