Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Part-Time Temporary STEM Education Grant Research Assistant on the Gainesville campus. The Institute for Environmental and Spatial Analysis (IESA) would like to invite applications for a STEM-Education Grant Research Assistant position. This role is part of a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded grant project, and the successful candidate will work closely with faculty members in an innovative and collaborative research environment.
As a STEM-Education Grant Research Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the GEOPAths-IN NSF funded project (NSF Grant Project Number: 2119990). In general, this role¿s responsibilities include assisting faculty members with project-related tasks, assisting with literature reviews, contributing to data collection and analysis, and aiding in the preparation of reports and presentations.
Responsibilities
Facilitate outreach to high school STEM teachers.
Assist with recruiting teachers for the summer workshop.
Assist with the recruitment of high school students participating in summer shadowing and mentorship program.
Provide administrative support associated with duties and discharge of other research related tasks, e.g., transcribing, developing data spreadsheets, facilitating the development of online surveys, developing unique identifiers, etc.
Conduct literature reviews and compile relevant research materials.
Assist in data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Familiarity with NSF GeoEd grants and STEM education research.
Comfortable using computers, web browsers, and software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Committed to building and maintaining collaborative professional relationships.
Reliable and responsible in conducting assigned duties.
Ability to use technology ethically to enhance efficiency, meet goals, and achieve tasks.
