Notes:

  • This is a salaried, part-time, 20-hour-per-week, benefits-eligible position.

  • Weekly assigned hours will be consistent, and scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.

Purpose

As a member of the Texas McCombs Master of Science Programs Office's Student Experience team (MSPO), this part-time academic program coordinator position will facilitate the administration of the Working Professional MS in Business Analytics (WPMSBA) program and support student success initiatives in collaboration with a faculty Program Director.

Responsibilities

Relationship Building

  • Serve as primary contact for students for a cohort of MSBA-Working Professionals program.

  • Provide rapid and individualized assistance to students to help them address barriers to success in their courses.

  • Hold virtual office hours for all students, and schedule sessions with students of concern to ensure that a plan is in place to address their needs in collaboration with the Program Director.

  • Provide continuous updates on student progress and course facilitation to Faculty, Program Director and Director of Student Experience.

  • Work collaboratively with other MSBA-WP SAPC on communication and administrative needs.

Academic and Co-Curricular Experience

  • Attend weekly classes virtually for a set cohort.

  • Provide advising to students (including but not limited to degree progress, university resources, and academic status).

  • Help identify at-risk students and provide them with direction to the proper resources.

  • Onboard new students at the beginning of each academic cycle.

Event Attendance

  • Attend on-campus immersive weekends - 2 per academic year

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Three years of experience in higher education, program management or related industry role.

  • Experience helping students navigate degree requirements for graduation.

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective rapport with students and academic partners.

  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.

  • Excellent event planning and project management skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with working professionals in an online graduate program

  • They are innovative and skilled at anticipating shifting trends.

  • Is a self-starter, highly collaborative, and able to work well in changing environments.

  • Responds well to feedback, works well as part of a team, skilled at dealing with both internal and external customers.

  • Is effective at prioritizing tasks and initiatives, and learns quickly. Demonstrates high energy, and enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile.

  • Preference will be given to applicants who have knowledge of the related policies and procedures at the University of Texas at Austin, experience working with graduate students in a School of Business, and/or a Master's degree in business.

Salary Range

$27,500 + depending on qualifications (salary is based on 20 hours per week)

Working Conditions

  • Works in standard office conditions with repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

  • Required to virtually attend classes of the incoming cohort in the evenings twice a week.

  • Extended hours may be required during peak seasons or special events.

  • This is an Austin, TX-based position and is eligible for hybrid work.

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
