The purpose of this position is to safeguard precious metals against loss through pilferage, burglary or attack. To enforce company policies relating to the security of assets, the safety of personnel and to report any violations.
Controls personnel traffic in and out of the plant.
Controls all vehicular traffic into the secure compound area by checking for proper ID and the contents of the trucks.
Controls and operates secure compound gates from the security office.
Conducts body and package search of personnel leaving areas of high value by monitoring x-ray and using a hand-held metal detector.
Monitors all CCTV cameras and alarm systems in control centre.
Installs and removes security seals on doors as required.
Takes fingerprints for new employee personnel file.
Takes pictures of all employee ID cards and personnel file.
Makes patrol checking for locked doors, unsecured metals, unsecured confidential documents and any other security or fire violations.
Acts as escort for contractors
Raises and lowers flags.
Maintains key control system.
Maintains daily logs and forms.
Issues security violations when warranted.
Answers phones during off hours.
Witness time setting and locking of vaults.
Respond to any alarms which come into the security office.
Scan all trash from production area checking for precious metal.
During patrols checks computerized control panels in production offices.
Responsible for notifying pertinent departmental supervisors at home should any irregularity be noted during off hours.
Must become familiar with all security procedures.
Must become certified in CPR and trained in First Aid.
Must become knowledgeable of all security procedures.
Ability to write detailed report.
Are you the ideal candidate?
Two years of college or a Bachelor's Degree preferred, as well as First Aid and CPR certification.
Ability to display good judgement, proper discretion and self-control while carrying out assignments.
Possess detailed security awareness.

Ability to think and act rationally during an emergency
Must project a "professional" image in all aspects of performance.
Ability to understand and operate computerized alarm system.
Must be flexible in order to work various shifts.
