Part-Time School Guidance Counselor

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a compassionate, dedicated School Counselor to join our team.

The ideal candidate will do the following:

• Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of St. Michael
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards in school counseling
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to address the needs of students and the school community
• Provide guidance and support to students with academic, social, emotional, or behavioral issues
• Assist students with goal setting
• Show awareness and sensitivity to unique student needs and is able to proactively plan and apply effective teaching strategies for each student's success.
• Strong team member committed to collaboration, building strong relationships, and content integration

Qualifications

• Masters in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
• State School Counseling Certification
• Experience working in a school setting and counseling students
• Knowledge of various counseling models, practices, and resources
• Strong communication skills and high emotional intelligence
• Experience with conflict resolution and crisis management
