Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine's Occupational Therapy Department invites applications for a part-time regular faculty appointment to begin in the Fall 2024 semester.

This is a 9-month academic year appointment in the occupational therapy assistant bachelor's program. Applicants must be a licensed occupational therapy assistant.

They must be able to teach in their area of expertise and in foundational courses. Clinical experience in adult physical rehabilitation or mental health practice is strongly preferred.

The part-time faculty member will have teaching, service, and advising responsibilities, including teaching two courses per semester. The faculty member will engage in the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA-B) curriculum development and the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) program accreditation process with the program director and other faculty. Faculty in this program are expected to teach at the Lewiston campus but will have teaching and other responsibilities online and on the Portland and Gorham campuses.

The targeted starting date for this position will begin in Fall 2024 on our Lewiston Campus and will pay an annual salary of $28,475 as a part-time faculty member.

The Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Southern Maine is currently in candidacy status for its occupational therapy assistant program at the bachelors level. We are accepting first year students for the fall of 2024.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as an occupational therapy assistant in Maine.
