Part Time Psychiatric Medical Director

JOB SUMMARY

The Addictions Psychiatric Physician provides oversight of comprehensive clinical services to clients, to include supervision and delivery of initial evaluations and medication management services utilizing advanced knowledge of the addictions/psychiatric field. The Physician assists clinical team members in diagnosis, care formulation and choice of treatment interventions. This role directly supervise psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NP) and/or Physician Assistants (PA) participating in treatment of clients at the Facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees all aspects of medical services at the Facility

• Directly provides or provides supervision of:

• Medication dosages, routes and frequencies based on client characteristics

• Analysis and interpretation of client's histories, symptoms, physical findings or diagnostic information

• Counseling clients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions

• Recommended interventions and medications

• Education of clients about diagnosis and medication

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals

• Supports and promotes person-directed care

• Provides chart reviews

• May work with clinical team and clients across programs and treatment in Detox, Residential, MAT, RRS, EC and Outpatient

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Medical Degree and Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

• Board Certification or eligibility in Psychiatry or ASAM required

• Extensive prior experience providing treatment to men and women with addiction, trauma, and related mental health concerns

• Ability to work with sometimes difficult and combative clients

• BLS/First Aid Certification
