Monday through Friday but may vary dependent upon building and/or class schedules.

Position Summary Information

Position Summary

In support of the overall Learning College the Campus Assistant/Custodian will perform a variety of custodial and facility tasks.

Responsibilities

Campus Assistant

1.Ensure facility is secure and lights are turned off at closing.

2.Inform and/or report violations of rule infractions including but not limited to loitering, smoking or possession of forbidden articles.

3.Report irregularities, such as equipment and property damage, unusual occurrences and malfunctions of machinery or equipment, fire hazards and leak pipes, etc.

4.Respond to routine request for service and assistance from faculty, staff, students and patrons.

5.Work start/stop times may be adjusted as needed, based on building occupancy and schedules.

Custodial

1.Perform necessary routine custodial services, including but not limited to:

a. Clean, dust, sweep, mop, vacuum and buff

b. Clean and sanitize restroom and drinking fountains daily

As needed:

c. Replenish paper products and hand soap

d. Empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers

e. Maintain appearance of outside by picking up trash, limbs, widow washing, etc.

f. Clear sidewalks of hazardous conditions such as snow and ice

2.Assist with setup of facility for classes, meetings, special events, etc., as needed.

3.Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

1.Develop an understanding and appreciation of the mission, history, current programs, services and goals of Isothermal Community College

2.Ability to make appropriate judgment in responding to situation, including but not limited to emergencies

3.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships on campus and in the community

4.Ability to follow oral and written instructions

5.Knowledge of college policies and procedures

6.Ability to learn procedures and techniques

7.Knowledge of floor and carpet maintenance

8.Ability to perform routine work

9.Ability to use equipment skillfully

Minimum Qualifications

1.High School Diploma or equivalent, required

Preferred Qualifications

1.Security or custodial experience, preferred
