Must be able to work day, evening and overnight shifts with varied days off

Responsibilities:

Provides premier customer service to internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely and professional manner.
Enforces State, Federal, traffic laws and University rules and regulations by patrolling and protecting the University, its faculty, staff, visitors and property; recognizing violations and citing or making arrests of individuals for violations.
Coordinates crime scenes and preliminary investigations by responding to residential and campus incidents, reports of crimes or suspicious activities, arresting suspects and violators, then securing the scene, maintaining logs, observing and collecting evidence, assisting victims and writing necessary reports.
Monitors traffic on campus by responding to traffic accidents, initiating routine traffic stops, enforcing traffic laws, providing
escorts and protection to guests and dignitaries.

Performs numerous civic duties by maintaining positive relationships with the University community and other law enforcement agencies, transports victims and suspects, maintains police equipment, problem-solves with University students, faculty and staff, and performs community services.
Increases job proficiency by conducting and participating in a variety of training programs and staying abreast of new innovations and developments in the field of law enforcement and investigation.
Provides specialized services by performing specific duties related to assigned specialized unit and critical incidents. May serve
as a field training officer with limited supervision over Police Recruits.
Regular attendance required.
