Part-Time Physical Therapist 2024-25 Be a Physical Therapist at RISE Prep Mayoral Academy, where College Begins in Kindergarten.

RISE Prep Mayoral Academy is currently seeking a part-time Physical Therapist (PT) to provide services in a K-8 school setting located in Woonsocket, RI beginning in the 2024-25 school year. Based on current (6 scholars) and projected future needs, RISE Prep anticipates needing the PT provider for approximately 2-4 hours/week starting the first week in September 2024. Schedule for services is flexible.

About RISE Prep Mayoral Academy

RISE Prep Mayoral Academy is a college preparatory K-8 public charter school located in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Approved by the Rhode Island Board of Education in October 2014, RISE Prep opened the doors to the inaugural class of Kindergarteners in September 2015.

To ensure excellence and quality as RISE Prep grows, the school follows a slow growth model and will grow one grade each year until it reaches its full K-8 enrollment. RISE Prep Elementary School will educate scholars in grades K-9 in 2024-25. Through a rigorous curriculum, highly structured learning environment, and character education, RISE Prep Mayoral Academy ensures that all Kindergarten through 8th grade scholars achieve the academic skills, content knowledge, and character required for the path to college. RISE Prep is dedicated to providing a high quality education to ALL scholars.

Roles and Responsibilities

Physical Therapists at RISE Prep will: Create an intentional individual and/or small group schedule that reflects the similar needs of scholars based on physical therapy IEP objectives and goals Provide direct services to scholars receiving physical therapy services as outlined in their IEPs Conduct physical therapy screenings and evaluations Consistent communication with families regarding goal-related and service progress inclusive of formal IEP progress reports Write IEP objectives and goals for scholars receiving physical therapy services Attend IEP meetings for scholars on the physical therapy caseload

Qualifications Belief that all scholars are capable at achieving at high academic levels Must meet all minimum state requirements and be fully certified to provide school-based PT services as well as conduct screenings and evaluations in an elementary school setting in Rhode Island Must have excellent organizational, and oral and written communication skills Minimum of one year experience in a school setting preferred Must have experience conducting PT evaluations and writing goals and objectives for Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and 504s Must embody RISE Prep Mayoral Academy's mission, vision, and RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Self Determination, Excellence) Ownership for the achievement results of scholars being serviced A track record of producing dramatic, demonstrable scholar achievement gains or comparable results in their current field Work well within a team and approach all work with positivity and determination Goal-driven, analytical problem solver, and embody a can-do spirit and strong work ethic Promote continuous improvement by being open to feedback; are self-reflective and humble
